PRODUCTS PRESERVED WITH 5-CHLORO-2-METHYL-4-ISOTHIAZOLIN-3-ONE
The invention relates to preserved products which contain 1 to 100 ppm of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one with a content of 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one in the range from 0 to 2 wt. % based on the total amount of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, and to the use of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one with a content of 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one in the range from 0 to 2 wt. % based on the total amount of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, for the preservation of products.
LOW-VOC AMINES AS A SURFACE-ACTIVE COMPONENT IN DISPERSIONS
The invention relates to a dispersion containing (A) at least one compound of the formula (I), wherein R.sup.1 denotes H, C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl, CH.sub.2CH.sub.2OH or CH.sub.2CH(CH.sub.3)OH, (B) a polymeric binder and (C) water.

COMPOSITION CONTAINING 1,2-DIBROMO-2,4-DICYANOBUTANE (DBDCB) AND ZINC PYRITHIONE (ZPT)
A composition, characterized in that it comprises 1,2-dibromo-2,4-dicyanobutane (DBDCB) and zinc pyrithione (ZPT) as active components.
Emulsion compositions and methods for strengthening glass
The present invention provides, in various embodiments, compositions and methods for strengthening glass without heat or chemical processing of the glass itself. The compositions of the present invention are emulsions comprising polymer colloid particles that are functionalized with an organosilicon compound. The polymer colloid particles can fill surface defects in the glass due to their size being smaller than the surface defects, and the functional groups thereon can react with the surface of the glass to anchor the particles in the defects.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITIONS
A process for producing an aqueous coating composition comprises providing an aqueous polymer dispersion having a pH <7 and adding to the dispersion 1 to 30 ppm of 5-chloro-2-methyl-3(2H)-isothiazolone (CIT) and 10 to 1000 ppm of 2,2-dibro-mo-3-nitrilopropionamide (DBNPA), all by weight of the total weight of the dispersion. At least one adjuvant is also added to the dispersion to produce a coating composition. When the coating composition is to be put into service, the DBNPA is decomposed by raising the pH of the coating composition and the CIT is decomposed either by raising the pH of the coating composition or by adding a CIT-decomposing compound to the coating composition.
Use of rhamnolipids and/or sophorolipids for increasing coverage and/or for maintaining application properties in the course of storage of coating compositions
Rhamnolipids and/or sophorolibids can be used for increasing coverage and/or for maintaining application properties in the course of storage of coating compositions.
BUILDING PANEL COATINGS
Described herein are panel coating compositions, building panel and a ceiling panel assembly having such coating compositions. The coating compositions are useful in obtaining stable and splotch-free finished paint on large panels.
POLYMERIC ANTIMICROBIAL SURFACTANT
Polycationic polymeric antimicrobial surfactant and polymeric biocompatible antimicrobial surfactant compositions are useful in dispersing various compounds in a carrier liquid. The polycationic polymeric antimicrobial surfactant and polymeric biocompatible antimicrobial surfactant compositions employ polymers having both hydrophilic domains and hydrophobic domains so that the compositions can disperse particles such as polymer particles or droplets in a continuous phase as well as provide stable dispersions that have not been provided before. The antimicrobial properties of the compositions provide much-needed capabilities of fighting infectious agents such as bacteria and viruses in a wide spectrum of products such as paint, adhesives, and coatings. Methods of using these compositions as well as methods of making products using the compositions are disclosed.
BIT COMPOSITIONS WITH SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED ACTIVITY
A preservative composition comprising an isothiazolinone, such as 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one, and a polyethertriamine in a synergistic combination. The polyethertriamine enhances the antimicrobial activity of the isothiazolinone, achieving the desired antimicrobial activity at synergistically lower concentrations than with the isothiazolinone in the absence of the polyethertriamine. Also, methods of using the preservative compositions to provide wet-state preservation of industrial materials including paints, coatings, and metal working fluids.
CHITOSAN-CONTAINING COATING COMPOSITIONS
Paint and coating compositions including chitosan exhibit one or more of improved elongation, improved thermocycling characteristics, reduced leaching of coating components, or lesser susceptibility to fungal and mildew defacement than conventional coatings, articles coated in the same, and methods for making said coating compositions or coated articles.
