NIR-inert substrates comprising bis-oxodihydroindolylen-benzodifuranones
A method for producing infra-red inert substrates, including molded polymeric articles, films, fibers and coatings and other organic and inorganic materials, by incorporating into the substrate or onto the surface of the substrate an effective amount of a dispersed bis-oxodihydroindolylen-benzodifuranone colorant. The thus obtained, also claimed substrates so produced are reflective and transparent to much of the near infra red radiation not reflected. There are multiple applications for cases of devices comprising electronic components, outdoor construction elements, outdoor furniture, automotive, marine or aerospace parts, laminates, artificial leather or textile materials, as well as in polychrome printing processes and optical fibers. The thus obtained substrates can also be subjected to laser welding. New bis-oxo-dihydroindolylen-benzodifuranone compounds are also claimed.

Method for producing surface-treated colored inorganic particles
The present invention provides a method that enables production of a surface-treated colored inorganic particle with which the desired color tone can be consistently reproduced as intended with no variation occurring in the color tone of the compositions produced with the particle, within each production and over multiple production runs. The invention relates to a method for producing a surface-treated colored inorganic particle, comprising spray drying a mixture of a dispersion [I] and a solution [II], wherein the dispersion [I] is a dispersion of inorganic particles having an average particle diameter of 0.005 to 5 μm dispersed in a solvent with a pigment, and the solution [II] is a solution of a surface treatment agent hydrolyzed in the presence of a hydrolysis aid.
Aqueous coating composition with improved viscosity stability
This invention relates to a coating composition, especially, relates to an aqueous coating composition with improved viscosity stability.
OPACIFYING CLUSTERS FOR USE IN PAINT COMPOSITIONS
An opacifying cluster which may be added to a coating composition to provide a coating composition with low gloss and a high level of opacity. The opacifying cluster can include a polymeric latex binder coalescing cluster components into a generally homogeneous particle. The cluster components may include discrete polymeric particles each defining a closed void volume therein, a plurality of inorganic pigment particles, and a plurality of extender pigment particles. The clusters may also include a porosity of the polymeric latex binder thereof defining a binder void volume. Also provided is a paint product including such a pigment cluster.
SURFACE TREATING COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF USE
A tire dressing is provided with a fine polymer-based reflective particles formed form of a blend of anisotropic particles of varying color that introduce an added reflective surface not present in ordinary tire dressings. The use of the fine polymer-based reflective particles enhance gloss, shine, and light reflectivity to the applied surface. The enhanced reflective surface effect is more noticeable during vehicle motion and the tire is rotating, as light is reflected from different reflective particles due to the changing angle of the particles caused by the rotation of the tire. The effects are more subtle than the typical effect of glitter due to the small particle size and the utilization of a mixtures of several types of polymer reflective particles that range from dark to bright and vary in color, and the presence of the high refractive index liquid silicone fluid that results in a brilliant radiant shine.
Highly water-resistant, flexible cementitious coating
Provided are highly water-resistant, flexible cementitious coating compositions comprising: an aqueous styrene-butadiene latex, one or more epoxy silane, cement, and one or more solid filler. The epoxy silane may comprise one or more epoxy functional groups and one or more hydrolysable functional groups selected from siloxy, silane, and, silanol or combinations thereof. Also provided are kits comprising the components of the cementitious coating compositions, methods for providing coatings, layers or membranes derived from such wet compositions, as well as the coatings, layers or membranes derived therefrom.
COATING COMPOSITION, A COMPOSITION FOR COATING FURNITURE OR BUILDING INTERIOR, AND AN ARTICLE COMPRISING THE COATING COMPOSITION
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a coating composition which gives a substrate excellent feel, abrasion resistance, stain resistance, flame retardancy, and weather resistance; and an article, furniture and a building interior material having a coating formed from the aforesaid coating composition. The present invention provides a coating composition comprising the following components (A) to (D): (A) an emulsion of a silicone acrylic copolymer resin which is a copolymer of 60 to 99 parts by mass of (a1) a polyorganosiloxane represented by the formula (1) and 1 to 40 parts by mass of (a2) an acrylic acid ester monomer and/or a methacrylic acid ester monomer, provided that a total amount of components (a1) and (a2) is 100 parts by mass, the emulsion being in an amount of 0.5 to 20 parts by mass as a solid content, (B) at least one resin emulsion in an amount of 20 to 80 parts by mass as a solid content, selected from the group consisting of acrylic resin emulsions other than component (A), urethane resin emulsions and alkyd resin emulsions, (C) pigment in an amount of 1 to 50 parts by mass, and (D) a flame retardant in an amount of 1 to 10 parts by mass, provided that a total mass of the solid contents of components (A) and (B) and the amounts of components (C) and (D) is 100 parts by mass.
