SEAL CARTRIDGE LATCH DESIGN FOR TROCAR ASSEMBLIES

A trocar assembly that includes a trocar and a seal cartridge configured to be releasably coupled to the trocar. The seal cartridge includes a top cap that includes a main body and a latch ring. The latch ring is grounded to the main body at a first angular position and has a latch located at a second angular position angularly offset from the first angular position. Applying a radial load on the latch causes the latch ring to flex in torsion at an intermediate portion that angularly interposes the first and second angular positions.

System and method for controlling gas composition in a surgical cavity during endoscopic surgical procedures

A method for controlling gas composition in a surgical cavity during an endoscopic surgical procedure includes monitoring for a plurality of gas species in a gas flow from a surgical cavity of a patient. The method includes measuring the plurality of gas species in the gas flow from the surgical cavity and determining if the gas species measured in the gas flow from the surgical cavity are each present and/or within a respective desired range. The method includes adding gas into the surgical cavity if one or more gas species in the plurality of gas species is outside of the respective desired range so as to bring a composition of gas species in the surgical cavity within the respective desired range.

Aspiration thrombectomy system and methods for thrombus removal with aspiration catheter

A vacuum aspiration control system for use with a vacuum source and an aspiration catheter includes a connecting tube configured to connect the vacuum source with a lumen of an aspiration catheter. An on-off valve is operatively coupled to the connecting tube, and a sensing unit is configured to detect flow within the connecting tube and provide a signal representative of flow. A controller receives the signal to decide whether to open or close the valve. The controller may automatically close the valve to stop flow when flow through the connecting tube is unrestricted, or according to a predetermined timing sequence. The controller can further periodically open a closed valve to determine whether flow has entered an acceptable range. The controller can still further engage pulsed aspiration with a pressure manipulation assembly when flow is restricted or occluded.

Multi-modal surgical gas circulation system for controlling a network of gas sealed access devices

A system for performing an endoscopic surgical procedure in a surgical cavity is disclosed which includes a primary gas circulation device housing a central processor and a primary pump, the primary pump controlled by the central processor and configured to deliver a flow of pressurized gas to a primary gas delivery lumen and to receive gas from a primary gas return lumen, and a plurality of subordinate gas circulation devices each housing a respective subordinate pump configured to deliver a flow of pressurized gas to a respective subordinate gas delivery lumen and to receive gas from a respective subordinate gas return lumen, wherein the subordinate pump in each subordinate gas circulation device is in networked communication with and controlled by the central processor of the primary gas circulation device.

A catheter has a cannulated guiding rail extending therethrough, an advance segment of the rail extending at least about 10 cm beyond the distal end of the catheter. The catheter and rail are advanced over a guidewire until the distal end of the advance segment is at a target vascular site. The catheter is thereafter advanced along the rail to the target vascular site.
