The lever further movable to a seal position correlating to the jaw members closing about tissue with a pressure between about 3 kg/cm.sup.2 to about 16 kg/cm.sup.2 for sealing.

END EFFECTOR DRIVE MECHANISMS FOR SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS SUCH AS FOR USE IN ROBOTIC SURGICAL SYSTEMS

A robotic system includes an electrosurgical instrument having an instrument housing having a shaft with an end effector assembly and first and second jaw members attached thereto movable to grasp tissue. An input is configured to move the jaw members and is configured to operably couple to a torque sensor that measures the torque of the input during rotation thereof. A handle is remotely disposed relative to the instrument housing and is configured to communicate with the input for controlling the movement of the jaw members. A housing having a lever operably coupled thereto, houses components therein configured to operably connect to the input such that movement of the lever correlates to movement of the jaw members. The components are configured to regulate the resistance of the lever in response to the feedback from the torque sensor.

Systems and methods for assessing sympathetic nervous system tone for renal neuromodulation therapy

Systems and methods for assessing sympathetic nervous system (SNS) tone for renal neuromodulation therapy are disclosed herein. A system configured in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, a detector attached to or implanted in a patient and a receiver communicatively coupled to the detector. The detector can measure cardiac data and the receiver and/or a device communicatively coupled thereto can analyze the cardiac data to provide one or more SNS tone indicators. The SNS tone indicators can be used to determine whether a patient will be responsive to a neuromodulation therapy and/or whether a neuromodulation therapy was effective.

System and method for assessing lesions in tissue

A method and system for assessing lesion formation in tissue is provided. The system includes an electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU is configured to acquire values for first and second components of a complex impedance between the electrode and the tissue, and to calculate an index responsive to the first and second values. The ECU is further configured to process the ECI to assess lesion formation in the tissue.

A system includes a processor circuit configured to receive an endovascular flow measurement obtained by an endovascular flow measurement positioned within a blood vessel of a patient. The system controls a nerve stimulation device to stimulate a nerve of the patient and receives an additional endovascular flow measurement while the nerve is stimulated. The processor circuit then performs a comparison of the two flow measurements received and provides an output based on the comparison.

A thulium fiber laser system can be used to treat tissues based on the ability for quick changes between laser pulses. For example, to treat stones in a tissue, a long pulse having low peak power can be used to create bubbles in front of the stone (calculi), then follow a series of shorter pulses and higher peak power can be used to break the stone. The sequence can be repeated to maintain large bubble formation, with the long pulse characteristics changed to accommodate for the changes in the tissue. A fluorescent sensing assembly can be used to detect the tissue conditions for selecting the conditions of the thulium fiber laser.
