SURGICAL POSITIONING SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE
A surgical positioning system is provided that includes a dimensioned grid having a plurality of dimensioned radio-opaque lines corresponding to surgical variables and a substrate connected to or integral with the grid. This system is used to obtain subject specific data from an image of a subject obtained during a surgical procedure by following the steps of: providing a grid having a plurality of dimensioned radio-opaque lines relating to surgical variables; placing the subject on a substrate; and obtaining subject specific data from an image of said subject. This invention relates to an apparatus made of a grid having a plurality of dimensioned radio-opaque lines relating to surgical variables and a sealable container sized to receive the dimensioned grid.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENT WITH FASTENER PRELOAD LOCK-OUT
Surgical instruments and their methods of use are disclosed. In some embodiments, the surgical instrument may include a handle and an elongated shaft extending distally from the handle. The surgical instrument may also include a fastener deployment system for deploying fasteners from the elongated shaft including a reciprocating driveshaft disposed within the elongated shaft. In other embodiments, the fastener deployment system may include a follower disposed within the elongated shaft for displacing one or more fasteners within the elongated shaft towards a distal fastener deployment position. In some embodiments, the surgical instrument may include a magnetic preload lock-out to place the follower in a zero-load state in which the follower does not apply a preload to the fasteners.
A DEVICE FOR PROVIDING A STERILE LIMITED SPACE FOR SURGERY
The invention relates to a device for establishing and maintaining a sterile environment for conducting surgical procedures. In particular, the invention is related to a tent-like device providing an interior space and being attachable to a patient's skin to allow surgical treatment of the patient. Several aspects of the invention are directed to devices to be used in connection with such a surgical procedure using the tent-like device. According to the invention, an isolation device for providing a sterile operation chamber above a skin region of a patient is provided, in particular for performing a surgical procedure, said isolation device comprising an inflatable bag coupled to a support frame, the support frame having a transport configuration and an operation configuration, wherein in the transport configuration, the first inflatable bag is confined, such as to have compact dimensions; in the operation configuration, the first inflatable bag is extended, such as to form said sterile operation chamber.
Medical device fixation method
An apparatus for fixing a device in a selected position comprises a base having a deformable adherent material disposed thereon, and at least one stability feature associated with the base that allows the apparatus to be maintained in a location and position. The deformable adherent material substantially conforms to at least a portion of a shape of the device and removably fixes the device in the selected position. Although not limited thereto, the apparatus is useful in surgical and interventional procedures for quickly and reliably fixing a medical device such as a catheter at a selected position and orientation while allowing easy removing and repositioning of the device.
Magnetic guide for intraoral radiography precision
A magnetic guide device for intraoral radiography is described. The magnetic guide device comprises a metal rod having a first rod end and a second rod end. The magnetic guide device further comprises a ring slidably attached to the metal rod between the first rod end and the second rod end. The magnetic guide device further comprises a plurality of magnetic attachments. The magnetic guide device further comprises a rectangular collimator attached to the ring by the magnetic attachments. The magnetic guide device further comprises a CMOS sensor. The magnetic guide device further comprises a metal fork having a fork handle slidably attached to the metal rod between the CMOS sensor and the first rod end. The metal fork is configured to hold the CMOS sensor during an intraoral radiography procedure.
NEEDLE RECEPTACLE FOR INCREASED OPERATING ROOM EFFICIENCY
Systems, devices and methods to improve safety and efficiency in an operating room comprise providing a suture package that holds new suture needles and needle receptacles for storing used needles. The devices can be safely worn for the surgeon to self-dispense new suture needles in the near surgical field and to secure the used needles into a needle trap or a needle retainer located on his extremity, on his operative instruments or on the surgical drapes. The device may provide automated and/or simplified needle counting both during use and after removal from the surgical field. The device may be configured for ergonomic and efficient use so as to minimize the actions and motions of the surgeon to dispense and secure the needle.

Clipping device
This disclosure describes a device comprising: (a) a first component for providing a means for securing acupuncture needles that are disposed in bulk-style packaging when such bulk-style package is opened; and (b) a second component for providing a mounting and resting surface for the first component. The first component and the second component may be coupled together by a coupling mechanism disposed therebetween. The device may permit an acupuncture practitioner to remove an acupuncture needle from bulk packaging, without accidentally touching the shaft of an adjacent or another acupuncture needle contained within the same bulk packaging, or accidentally spilling needles in an open package while moving packaging around during treatment.
Surgical Instrument Stand
The present application is directed to a surgical stand having a vertical pole portion with a securing clamp junction holding a horizontal pole in a fixed position with respect to the vertical pole, and the horizontal pole includes a plate interface including a number of securing mechanisms for holding surgical instruments against the plate interface, and a number of rings disposed along the horizontal pole on both sides of the plate interface.
SURGICAL-IMPLEMENT COUNT AND CAPTURE SYSTEM
A surgical-implement count and capture system including a carrier tape having a plurality of spaced-apart receiving areas disposed longitudinally along the carrier tape. Each of the plurality of spaced-apart receiving areas being configured to receive a surgical-implement. The carrier tape is configured to follow a first pathway. A deposit station is located along the first pathway and is adapted to accommodate deposition of a plurality of the surgical-implements respectively into successive ones of the spaced-apart receiving areas when resident at the deposit station. A counting station is located along the first pathway downstream of the deposit station. The counting station includes a sensor adapted to detect the plurality of the surgical-implements in the respective receiving areas.
