PACKAGING, PREFERABLY MEDICAL, AND CORRESPONDING ASSEMBLY OF PACKAGINGS
A packaging element (2, 3) has two shells (21, 22, 31, 32), each shell having a margin (210, 220) defining an access opening giving access to the inside of the shell, said packaging element (2, 3) having at least a closed configuration in which the shells form a chamber that is substantially closed and that is suitable for receiving an article, such as a medical implant. The packaging element (2, 3) further has a sealing strip (4) that extends, outside the shells (21, 22, 31, 32), over the entire length of the margins (210, 220) of the shells of the packaging element, and from one margin (210, 220) of the shell to the other margin (220, 210) of the shell in such a manner as to seal the chamber defined by the two shells. An assembly has two packaging elements received one inside the other, with a corresponding sealing method.
Corneal implant storage and delivery devices
Corneal implant applicator devices and methods of using. In some embodiments they include an implant applicator and an implant support, wherein the implant applicator and implant support are disposed relative to one another to form an implant nest that is adapted to house a corneal implant; wherein the applicator has a greater affinity for the corneal implant than the support.
STERILIZATION TRAY FOR FACILITATING ATTACHMENT OF IMPLANT INSERTION DEVICE TO IMPLANTABLE DEVICE, RELATED APPARATUS AND METHODS
An apparatus including a sterilizable tray having a base and at least one fixture connected to the tray adapted for removably securing an implant insertion device to the tray. The tray can be free of a first wall portion for permitting the proximal end of an implantable device to axially align with the end of the implant insertion device for coupling to the implant insertion device and can be free of a second wall portion for permitting a tool to axially align with the end of the implant insertion device so as to threadedly couple the implant insertion device to the implantable device. Related methods and apparatus are provided.
Disposal system
This disclosure is directed to a disposal container system enabling storage of used or contaminated articles having a generally flat, strip-shaped configuration, such as diagnostic biosensors. The disposal container is removably mountable to a supply container, and has an insertion portion provided in a wall of the disposal container. The insertion portion has a contour configured externally to guide deposit of a flat, strip-shaped article through a narrow slit, the contour further configured internally to deflect any loose articles in the interior space of the disposal container away from any accidental alignment with the slit which would cause free extraction of the articles. The disposal container may be configured for engagement with a supply container, such as a round or non-round vial, in a bottom-cap configuration or in a side-by-side configuration, by way of an engagement portion.
CERCLAGE CABLE SYSTEM AND APPARATUS
A cerclage cable system is disclosed which includes a bone plate, one or more securing devices, and one or more cerclage cables. The bone plate includes a plurality of bone plate apertures thereupon, wherein the bone plate is configured to be affixed to a bone. The one or more securing devices include a body having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein at least one securing device aperture is disposed toward the proximal end, wherein the distal end of the securing device is configured to be inserted into and received by the plurality of bone plate apertures. The one or more cerclage cables include two terminal ends, wherein the one or more cerclage cables are wrapped around the bone, wherein one terminal end of the one or more cerclage cables is passed through at least one securing device aperture.
Surgical sponge and needle counter
A surgical sponge counter includes a unitary molded plastic sponge tray defining a plurality of wells each sized to hold a lap sponge. Each well has a ledge defining a recess below the sponge for collecting fluid once the sponge is replaced in the tray. A needle counting receptacle tray may be nested within the sponge tray above the sponges.
DEVICES, METHODS, AND KITS FOR PREPARING A CELL SUSPENSION
In some embodiments, a kit for preparing a cell suspension may include a device and a housing. The device may include a first label identifying a first reservoir of the device for use with a first portion of a tissue processing method and a second label identifying a second reservoir of the device for use with a second portion of the tissue processing method. The housing includes a first housing portion configured to store a first set of components associated with the first portion of the tissue processing method. The first housing portion includes a first visual indicator associated with the first label of the device. The second housing portion may be configured to store a second set of components associated with the second portion of the tissue processing method. The second housing portion may include a second visual indicator associated with the second label of the device.
Electromagnetic absorbing material in opening of shielded enclosure
A shielded enclosure receives REID-tagged packaging from consumed medical items. The enclosure includes a housing and a lid. An opening in the lid receives the packaging into an internal space. A chute surrounds the opening and extends downward into the internal space. The chute has front, left, right, and rear walls. A hood attached to the lid surrounds the opening. An aperture in the hood allows passage of the packaging into the lid opening. The hood includes rear, right, left, and top walls. RF absorbing material covers inside surfaces of the chute and hood, including a front panel on the chute front wall, a rear panel on the hood rear wall and the chute rear wall, a left side panel on the hood left side wall and the chute left side wall, a right side panel on the hood right side wall and the chute right side wall, and a top panel on the hood top.
DRIVERS AND DRIVE SYSTEMS
Drivers and drive systems (e.g., off-axis drive systems, pneumatic motors, multi-gear drive systems, and/or the like), and kits comprising drivers with drive systems, such as those, for example, configured to move a drive shaft.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INTRAOPERATIVE MEASUREMENTS OF ANATOMICAL ORIENTATION
Electronic devices that detect their position and/or orientation with respect to earth's frame of reference are described. A coupler can removeably maintain the electronic devices in physical proximity of one another. Each electronic device can have a housing and the coupler can be included on the housing and arranged to physically connect the housing of the electronic device to the housing of at least one other electronic device. Alternatively, the coupler can be a packaging that maintains the electronic devices in physical proximity of one another. Each electronic device can be calibrated using the orientation or position information obtained by other electronic devices maintained by the coupler. Further, each electronic device can include a power source that remains inactive until the device is ready for use.
