Blue inorganic colourants/pigments and process for preparation thereof
Nontoxic Near infra-red Reflecting (NIR) inorganic pigments, characteristically blue and well suited for the coloration of a wide variety of substrates, for example, plastics and concrete building roofing material, etc., comprise mixed metal silicate having the general formula: La.sub.xSr.sub.1-xCu.sub.1-yLi.sub.ySi.sub.4O.sub.10, where x is equal to 0 to 0.5 and y is equal to 0 to 0.5. These silicates with tetragonal crystal structure are prepared by calcination method in air atmosphere.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS AND COMPOSITION FOR FOAMED PVC-P ROCK SHIELDS
A plasticized PVC formulation for foam extrusion including polyvinyl chloride, at least one plasticizer, at least one nucleating agent and a chemical blowing agent, wherein the plasticized PVC formulation is a dry blend containing 0.5 to 5% by weight of one or more nucleating agents and 0.1 to 3% by weight of the chemical blowing agent, wherein the blowing agent is sodium bicarbonate and the nucleating agent is talcum, and a foam extrusion method using said formulation. The extruded plasticized PVC foam is particularly suitable for rock shield pads used for pipeline protection. The foams are lightweight and require less consumption of materials with comparable properties to corresponding solid articles.
SURFACE COATING COMPOSITIONS
This disclosure relates to ingredients which are added to liquid paint, or coated onto dried paint, to provide benefits beyond the usual characteristics of commonly available water-based paints. More specifically, the disclosed chemistry changes the properties of the film created after application of the paint making the film harder and having anti-static properties.

Adhesive tape for encapsulating electronic constructions
The aim is to provide an adhesive tape that effectively protects an electronic construction from permeants, especially water, and that at the same time has good gap-filling qualities. To solve this problem an adhesive tape is proposed that has in the following order:—a carrier layer without barrier effect at least towards water and with a WVTR of at least 1 g/(m.sup.2*d) (38° C., 90% relative humidity, 50 μm layer thickness); —a layer comprising at least one getter material capable of sorbing at least water; —a water barrier ply; and—a layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive, where the carrier layer bears an outward-facing release layer and/or the layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive is lined with a release liner which has a release layer lying on the layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive.

The process of foaming a polyolefin, e.g., polyethylene, composition using as a nucleator a combination of (A) a fluororesin, and (B) a mixture of (1) a first component consisting of at least one of citric acid and an alkali metal citrate, and (2) a second component consisting of at least one of an alkali metal citrate, a di-alkali metal hydrogen citrate, an alkali metal dihydrogen citrate and an alkali metal bicarbonate with the proviso that if the first component of the mixture is an alkali metal citrate, then the second component of the mixture is not an alkali metal citrate.
