ANIMAL FEED COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING MURAMIDASE AND USES THEREOF
The present invention relates to animal feed compositions comprising polypeptides having muramidase activity and uses thereof. In the Examples it is shown that feeding muramidase to broiler chicken increased apparent ileal digestibility of crude protein and crude fat.
RECOMBINANT YEAST AS ANIMAL FEED
Provided herein are transgenic direct fed microbial strains and direct feed compositions for feeding to animals; method of generating and using such compositions to as probiotic, to increase probiotics, and in egg-laying animals, to lower cholesterol in eggs and enhance yolk color.
PROTEIN AGGREGATION INHIBITOR
The present invention provides a protein aggregation inhibitor for use in preventing aggregation of a protein, containing a crosslinked polymer obtained by polymerizing polymerizable polymer components containing a sulfobetaine polymer obtained by polymerizing monomer components containing a sulfobetaine monomer, the sulfobetaine monomer, and a crosslinkable monomer.
Conjugates of biologically active molecules to functionalized polymers
This document relates to conjugates of a biologically active molecule or a derivative thereof and functionalized (e.g., mono- or bi-functional) polymers (e.g., polyethylene glycol and related polymers) as well as methods and materials for making and using such conjugates.
Chromatography membranes, devices containing them, and methods of use thereof
Described herein are fluid treatment devices for use in tangential flow filtration, comprising a housing unit and a composite material, wherein the composite material comprises: a support member comprising a plurality of pores extending through the support member; and a non-self-supporting macroporous cross-linked gel comprising macropores having an average size of 10 nm to 3000 nm, said macroporous gel being located in the pores of the support member. The invention also relates to a method of separating a substance from a fluid, comprising the step of placing the fluid in contact with an inventive device, thereby adsorbing or absorbing the substance to the composite material contained therein.
Thermophile Peptidoglycan Hydrolase Fusion Proteins and Uses Thereof
The disclosure relates to chimeric recombinant lysins comprising at least one thermophile endolysin catalytic domain and at least one cell wall binding domain. Also disclosed are polynucleotides encoding the chimeric recombinant lysins, host cells expressing the chimeric recombinant lysins, and use of such chimeric recombinant lysins.
ANIMAL FEED COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING MURAMIDASE AND USES THEREOF
The present invention relates to animal feed compositions comprising polypeptides having muramidase activity and uses thereof. Feeding broilers with feed comprising muramidase resulted in a dose-dependent increase of blood carotenoids. Administration of the supplemented feed could likewise increase blood levels of zeaxanthin, lutein, vitamin A, vitamin E and sialic acid.
VECTORS, GENETICALLY MODIFIED BACTERIA, AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING
Provided herein are a vector, a genetically modified bacterium including the vector, methods of making the bacterium, methods of using the bacterium, and kits including the bacterium. The vector includes a coding region encoding at least one antimicrobial peptide, and the antimicrobial peptide includes at least one lysin.
Treatment of a Condition Associated with Infection with an Oncogenic Bacterium
The present invention relates to the field of medicine, specifically to the field of treatment of a malignant condition associated with infection with a bacterium that aggravates and/or induces proliferation of the malignant conditions.
Cyclopropene amino acids and methods
The invention relates to a polypeptide comprising an amino acid having a cyclopropene group wherein said cyclopropene group is joined to the amino acid via a carbamate group. Suitably the cyclopropene group is a 1,3-disubstituted cyclopropene such as a 1,3-dimethylcyclopropene. Suitably the cyclopropene group is present as a residue of a lysine amino acid. The invention also relates to methods of making the polypeptides. The invention also relates to an amino acid comprising cyclopropene wherein said cyclopropene group is joined to the amino acid moiety via a carbamate group.
