Combination treatment systems
Controllers for dry eye treatment apparatus and methods are described herein which generally comprise a patch or strip affixed to the skin of the upper and/or lower eyelids to deliver heat to the one or more meibomian glands contained within the underlying skin. The treatment strip or strips include one or more strips configured to adhere to an underlying region of skin in proximity to one or both eyes of a subject such that the one or more strips allow for the subject to blink naturally without restriction from the one or more patches. A controller is in communication with the one or more strips and is programmable to monitor a temperature of the one or more strips to provide a treatment therapy above a threshold temperature. Additionally forceps for mechanically expressing the Meibomian glands may be included with the strips and/or controller.
ELECTRICAL ISOLATION DURING BATTERY CHARGING OF WEARABLE DEVICES
A modular stimulus applicator system and method are disclosed. The system includes a plurality of wirelessly controlled stimulus pods configured to be anchored to a patients body, and configured to deliver stimulus to the patients body. The stimulus can be heat, vibration, or electrical stimulus, or any combination thereof. The stimulus pods can be charged by a charging station that prevents the stimulus pods from being in contact with the patients body during charging.
Wireless teeth whitening system
A wireless teeth whitening system includes a mouthpiece that is devoid of any electrical circuitry so that it may easily be cleaned and sterilized. A control module may be coupled to the mouthpiece. This module has an electrical circuit board with LEDs and heating elements mounted on it. When the control module is coupled to the mouthpiece, the system may be used to whiten teeth. The control module includes a battery that may be inductively charged, and may be wirelessly controlled via Bluetooth from a mobile application.
PHYSIOTHERAPY INSTRUMENT WITH INTELLIGENT HEATING CONTROL FUNCTION BASED ON BIOELECTRIC FEEDBACK
A physiotherapy instrument with an intelligent heating control function based on bioelectric feedback comprises an MCU, a boost control circuit, a pulse output control circuit, a bioelectric feedback circuit and a heating control circuit. The MCU is connected to the boost control circuit, the pulse output control circuit, the bioelectric feedback circuit and the heating control circuit. The pulse output control circuit inputs electric pulses within a safe range to a human body by means of an electrode. The bioelectric feedback circuit feeds one or multiple electric parameters, including a resistance, voltage, current and frequency of the human body, back to the MCU.
Patient warming device for surgical procedures
A single-use patient positioning and warming pad configured to be placed between a patient and an operating table during a surgical procedure is provided. The pad includes a viscoelastic foam body having a top portion and a bottom portion; a heating element at least partially disposed between the top portion and the bottom portion of the foam body; and an electrical connector having a proximal end portion enclosed within the foam body connected to the heating element and a distal end portion extending from the foam body, configured to directly or indirectly connect to a power source and/or control unit for the heating element. Optionally, the foam body is formed from a foam material having sufficient viscosity and resiliency to maintain positioning of the patient relative to the operating table during surgical procedures in which the operating table is moved to an inclined position.
Endoscopic Cancer Treatment System
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an endoscopic cancer treatment system capable of heating and treating only cancer tissues at pinpoint more surely, when treating a cancer in visceral organs such as a pancreatic cancer. An endoscopic cancer treatment system for heating and treating cancer tissues to be a lesion, which is used in combination with an ultrasonic endoscope used in an endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration, comprising: a heating needle provided with a heater and a temperature detecting element at tip side; and a controller for controlling the heater to a predetermined temperature based on a temperature data detected by the temperature detecting element, wherein the heating needle is configured to be inserted through an instrument insertion channel provided in an inserting section of the ultrasonic endoscope to be able to protrude or retract from a tip opening provided at a tip side of the inserting section.
System and Method for Vaginal Remodeling
A system and method for vaginal remodeling and treating gynecological disorders. A vaginal remodeling system comprising a flexible, inflatable, vaginal balloon capable of transferring heat and mechanical stress in a controlled manner to restore vaginal function. The proposed method to reactivate the cells in the vaginal tissue using thermal energy and mechanical energy using balloon dilatation and/or pulsing to promote the rejuvenation of the vaginal tissue will be accomplished by the system described in this disclosure.
HEATABLE CONTACT SURFACE FOR USE IN MEDICAL IMAGING
The present application relates to a heatable system suitable for use in a patient contacting plate used in medical imaging. The system comprises a heatable laminated structure with a plurality of layers each of which is transparent to imaging radiation and allows for thermal transfer. A heater layer, located between two of the plurality of layers, comprises an electrically resistive material and is transparent to imaging radiation. The laminated structure further includes a conductive path suitable for use in coupling a voltage source to the electrically resistive material in the heatable laminated structure, whereby the laminated structure is heated when current is passing through the conductive path. Also disclosed is a compression plate system and an imaging medical device comprising the heatable system. Methods of making the heatable system and of using it in medical imaging are also disclosed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS
Caloric stimulation and pressure stimulation can be applied to the ear for treatment of neurological disorders, such as migraine, pain, and headache. Heat can be applied first to increase the sensitivity of the mechanoreceptors in the ear. The pressure can be applied after heating to produce a stronger neurological response than would occur without the heating. In some cases, cooling can be used. Valves can be used to direct fluid flow to a right ear, a left ear, or both. Valves can be used to transition the system between an irrigation or caloric mode and a pressure mode. Green eyewear can be used for therapeutic relief.
SUPPORTING DEVICE FOR SUPPORTING A BODY PART OF A USER
Support device (1) for supporting at least one body part of a user at least in portions, optionally completely, comprising a support body (2), which comprises at least one support region (3) for supporting at least one body part of a user at least in portions, optionally completely, wherein at least the support region (3) has, at least in portions, optionally completely, a geometric-structural design that is individually configured on the basis of the data describing at least one body part of a user that is to be supported on the support region (3) at least in portions, optionally completely.
