NON-SEDATING DEXMEDETOMIDINE TREATMENT REGIMENS

Disclosed herein are methods of administering relatively high doses of dexmedetomidine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to a human subject, without also inducing significant sedation. The disclosed methods are particularly suitable for the treatment of agitation, especially when associated with neurodegenerative and/or neuropsychiatric diseases such as schizophrenia, bipolar illness such as bipolar disorder or mania, dementia, depression, or delirium.

DISSOLVABLE FILMS AND METHODS OF THEIR USE

Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for storing biologically active polypeptides. When the biologically active polypeptides are formulated appropriately within the compositions, they can be stored at room temperature for extended periods of time and retain a significant amount of activity prior to storage. Examples of the activity that is retained is at least about 70% to 95% activity prior to storage. Duration of storage may be for extended amounts of time, for example 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 8 months, or longer than a year. Methods for administering, formulating and stabilizing the biologically active polypeptides are also disclosed.

OROMUCOSAL FILM COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING EPINEPHRINE PARTICLES

The invention provides an oromucosal film composition comprising: a therapeutically effective amount of epinephrine solid particles having a particle size in the range of from about 0.01 um to about 100 um; and a pharmaceutically acceptable polymer wherein the epinephrine solid particles are dispersed in and/or disposed on a polymeric layer. The film compositions can be used for the treatment of anaphylactic shock, cardiac arrest, asthma, bronchial asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, respiratory infections, and allergic reactions. The film compositions may further contain local anesthetics and used for providing local anesthesia, such as for the treatment or prevention of tooth pain and treatment of mouth ulcers.

DRY LIPOSOME ADJUVANT-CONTAINING VACCINES AND RELATED METHODS THEREOF

Described herein are dry powder compositions of liposomes, liposomal adjuvant or liposomal adjuvanted vaccines. Formulations containing a cryoprotectant can be converted to dry powders using, e.g., thin-film freeze-drying (TFFD). The composition may comprise a liposomal adjuvant, such as AS01.sub.B adjuvant, or also including an antigen, i.e., AS01.sub.B-adjuvanted vaccine compositions.

Method for producing an, in particular oral, active substance laminate, and active substance laminate, in particular oral active substance laminate

The invention relates to a method for producing an active substance laminate, especially an oral active substance laminate (100), having at least one active-substance-containing layer (31), which is arranged on a substrate (20), wherein the method comprises the following steps: a) providing a substrate (20) having an upper side (21) and an underside (22); b) applying an active-substance-containing mass (24) in a gap (25) formed by a first rotating roller (26) and a second rotating roller (27); c) transporting the substrate (20) to the second roller (27) by means of a third rotating roller (28) in such a way that the active-substance-containing mass (24) is applied to the upper side (21) of the substrate (20) by the second roller (27) in the form of an active-substance-containing layer (31); d) transporting an intermediate laminate (30), formed by the substrate (20) and the active-substance-containing layer (31), to a drying device (40); and e) drying the intermediate laminate (30), especially the active-substance-containing layer (31).

Iniparib formulations and uses thereof

Disclosed herein are pharmaceutical compositions, formulations, and dosage forms and their use in the treatment of a cancer. Also disclosed herein are methods of treating a cancer in a subject in need thereof.

DELIVERY DEVICES AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME

In an example of a method for making a pulsatile delivery device, one type of charges are generated on a polymeric layer, and charges opposite the one type of charges are generated on a delivery layer including a film forming material and a predetermined substance dispersed throughout the film forming material. The charged polymeric and delivery layers are placed into contact to form a bi-layer structure. A stack with at least two bi-layer structures is formed so that the polymeric layers and the delivery layers are alternating throughout the stack. The stack is sealed so that one of the polymeric layers remains exposed.

ORAL FILM OF HIV DRUGS

The present invention provides oral film of HIV/Anti-retroviral drugs and its pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, which is useful for the treatment of HIV infections. Further the present invention provides composition and process for preparing oral film of HIV/Anti-retroviral drugs and its pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
