Pile upending and holding system and method

A pile upending and holding system includes a support assembly configured to be mounted on the vessel and to provide compensation for wave-induced motion of the vessel to maintain a predetermined X-Y location of the pile holder independent of said motion, and a pile holder mounted on the support assembly to be tillable about a substantially horizontal tilt axis. The pile holder includes a lower ring and an upper ring, and a pile holder frame supporting the lower ring and upper ring, the upper ring longitudinally spaced from the lower ring. Each of the rings include pile engaging devices distributed about the circumference thereof, each pile engaging device being adapted to engage an exterior of the pile extending through the lower and upper ring. Each of the lower ring and upper ring includes a ring base fixed to the pile holder frame and one or more movable jaws, movable between a closed position for holding and guiding the pile and an opened position for entry of the pile. The pile holder is provided, below the lower ring thereof, with a pile foot end support for engaging a longitudinal end of the pile to limit longitudinal movement thereof.

Subsea processing of well fluids

A wax control element for subsea processing of well fluids in a wellstream comprises a bundle of flowlines within an elongate tensile structure. That structure defines inlet and outlet ends and has cooling and heating provisions that act on the flowlines, in use, to promote deposition of wax in the flowlines and subsequent entrainment of wax in the wellstream.

Support device configured to be positioned on a lifting vessel in order to lift a topside from its support structure

A support device configured to be positioned on a lifting vessel in order to support a topside of an offshore platform, the support device comprising: a main cylindrical casing having an upper opening, the main casing defining a main vertical axis, the main casing further defining an upper support rim, a reservoir located inside the main casing for holding a granular material or a fluid, the reservoir having a discharge opening for emptying the reservoir, a spring support slideably arranged within the main casing, the spring support resting on the granular material or the fluid and being movable from an upper position to a lower position in dependence on a filing degree of the reservoir, a spring device positioned on the spring support, a receptor support positioned on the spring device, the receptor support defining an upper surface, and a receptor device.

Fixation system for hydraulic jacking system

A self-elevating platform comprises a deck structure, a plurality of legs, a plurality of footings, and a jacking system, wherein the plurality of legs pass through the deck structure and are supported by the plurality of footings; and wherein the jacking system comprises a jackcase structure with a first locking pin, a jacking yoke with a second locking pin, a plurality of jacking cylinders with a first end and second end, where the first end of the jacking cylinders is supported by the jackcase structure, and the second end of the jacking cylinders by the jacking yoke; and a fixation system comprising a plurality of tension rods, wherein each tension rod has a first end and a second end, and wherein the first end of the tension rods is securely coupled with the jacking yoke, and the second end of the tension rods is securely coupled with the deck structure; thereby when the plurality of tension rods secures the jacking yoke to the deck structure, the load can be removed from the hydraulic cylinders and transferred to the fixation system.

Off-shore wind turbine system and method of installation

An off-shore wind turbine system is assembled using a platform or jack-up vessel, and a first base anchored to the seafloor at a blade assembly off-shore location. A buoyant tower is attached to the first base. A crane provided on the platform or jack-up vessel is used to lift blades and blades, which are then coupled to a turbine held in a nacelle provided at the top of the buoyant tower. The buoyant tower, the nacelle, and the blades are detached from the first base. The buoyant tower, the nacelle, and the blades are towed to a wind farm and connected to a second base provided in the wind farm. The buoyant tower, the nacelle, and the blades are further stabilized using mooring lines spanning between the buoyant towers and other bases provided in the wind farm. The first base and/or the second base include anti-rotation features.

A subsea system for installing, suspending and removing underwater equipment below the surface of the sea is provided. The subsea system includes a landing base module for landing and positioning underwater equipment thereupon, the landing base module comprising a base member and a first buoyancy system; and a second buoyancy system for affixing to the underwater equipment, the second buoyancy system having sufficient buoyancy to float the underwater equipment toward the surface of the sea when detached from the landing base module, wherein the underwater equipment includes a ballast system structured and arranged to permit the underwater equipment to be lowered onto the landing base module. A method for installing, suspending and removing underwater equipment below the surface of the sea and a kit of parts are also provided.

PILE UPENDING AND HOLDING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A system for holding a pile and being mounted on a vessel includes a support assembly and a pile holder. The support assembly provides compensation for wave-induced motion of the vessel to maintain a predetermined X-Y location of the pile holder. The pile holder has a center axis and is mounted on the support assembly so as to be tiltable about a substantially horizontal tilt axis relative to the support assembly. The pile holder has at least one ring which includes a ring structure and multiple pile engaging devices connected to the ring structure of the ring, distributed about the circumference of the ring. The substantially horizontal tilt axis of the system is located, with the pile extending substantially vertically through the at least one ring, further forward from the location at which the support assembly is mounted to the vessel than the center axis of the pile holder.
