Forced-entry-resistant sash lock
11187010 · 2021-11-30 · ·

A forced-entry resistant sash lock includes a housing, a shaft pivotally mounted to the housing, a cam mounted on the shaft using an elongated opening permitting selective rotational and translational movements, and a separation member secured to the shaft. In the unlocked position, upon shaft rotation in a first direction a cam surface on the separation member engages a follower surface on the cam causing co-rotation of the cam into a non-forced entry-resistant locked position, and upon continued rotation the cam surface moves relative to the follower surface causing cam translation into a forced-entry-resistant locked position through movement of the shaft within the elongated opening, until an engagement surface of the separation member engages a contact surface of the cam, preventing forced reverse cam translation. The cam translation causes a cam stop surface to engage a housing stop surface preventing forced cam counter-rotation.

A locking device (1), comprising:—a latch bolt arrangement (2), which is movable into at least a first and a second latch bolt position, said latch bolt arrangement (2) comprising a first follower arm engagement part (7); —a first follower arrangement (8) configured for transferring a motion to the latch bolt arrangement from a first unlocking device which can be connected to the first follower arrangement (8), wherein said first follower arrangement (8) comprises a first follower arm (11) which comprises a latch bolt engagement part (13) which is configured to at least in some positions of the first follower arm (11) contact the first follower arm engagement part (7) of the latch bolt arrangement (2), whereby the latch bolt arrangement (2) can be pushed by a movement of the first follower arm (11) such that the latch bolt arrangement (2) is moved from the first latch bolt position to the second latch bolt position; and —a locking arm (15), wherein said locking arm (15) further comprises a locking arm catch (19), whereby said locking arm (15) can be moved from the first locking arm position to the second locking arm position by pushing said locking arm catch (19), and wherein the first follower arm (11) further comprises a locking arm catch engagement part (21) which will push the locking arm catch (19) for moving the locking arm (15) towards the second locking arm position when the first follower arm (11) is moved for pushing the latch bolt arrangement (2) to the second latch bolt position.

CLOSURE LATCH ASSEMBLY WITH POWER RELEASE MECHANISM HAVING OPTIMIZED OPENING FUNCTIONALITY AND REDUCED RESET NOISE
20210355716 · 2021-11-18 ·

A power latch assembly for a vehicle door and method of construction thereof is provided. The power latch assembly includes a pawl configured for movement between a ratchet holding position whereat the pawl maintains a ratchet in a striker capture position and a ratchet releasing position whereat the pawl releases the ratchet to a striker release position. A pawl release lever moves the pawl between the ratchet holding position and the ratchet releasing position. A powered actuator is energizable to control movement of the pawl release lever, wherein upon the pawl reaching the ratchet releasing position, the powered actuator is automatically de-energized without a hard stop feature.

Tamper resistant sash lock

A tamper-resistant sash window lock includes a housing, a shaft, a cam, and a lever member. An interior surface of the housing wall that defines a cavity. A portion of the interior surface of the housing wall is curved about a hole in the housing, with a distal end of the wall portion formed into a lock surface. The shaft is rotatably mounted in the hole, and a hub of the cam is rotatably mounted on the shaft. The cam has a cantilevered arm with a lock surface and an engagement surface. The lever member is fixedly secured to the shaft, for a first side thereof to engage and drive the cam hub in a first rotational direction into a lock position when the shaft is actuated in the first rotational direction, so the lock surface of the cantilevered arm engages the lock surface of the housing preventing forced entry.

Locking device
