Bulkhead
A bulkhead may include a fixed body having an exterior fixed body surface, a first cover having a first large region and a first small region, a second cover having a second large region and a second small region, a seal element, a first electrical contact, and a second electrical contact. The exterior fixed body surface may be perpendicular to a radius of the fixed body. The seal element may contact the exterior fixed body surface in a gap provided between the first cover and the second cover. The first electrical contact may extend through the first small region of the first cover. The second electrical contact may extend through the second small region of the second cover.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS FOR OIL OPERATIONS
An electrical connector is provided that includes a first conductor for receiving electrical power. A first seal is coupled to the first conductor for protecting the first conductor. An insulating body is coupled to the first conductor, and includes an electrical terminal that establishes electrical connections between the first conductor and a plurality of electrical terminal pins. A downhole cable is coupled to a first electrical terminal pin of the plurality of electrical terminal pins. The first electrical terminal pin establishes an electrical connection between the electrical terminal and the downhole cable to provide the electric power to the downhole cable. A second seal is coupled to the downhole cable for protecting the electrical connection between the electrical terminal and the downhole cable.
DETERMINATION OF ORDER AND/OR DIRECTION OF DOWNHOLE COMPONENTS
A system for determining an order of electronic components in a downhole string includes a plurality of electronic components connected in series by a conductor and forming a series of electronic components, the plurality of electronic components including a master electronic component. For each electronic component in the series of electronic components, the controller is configured to detect a power direction, where the power direction is an uphole power direction when power from the power supply is received at an uphole side of the electronic component, and is a downhole power direction when power is received at a downhole side of the electronic component. The controller is configured to send a message through the conductor including an indicator indicating the power direction, and the master electronic component is configured to receive the message and determine an order of electronic components in the series of electronic components based on the indicator.
TOOL STRING COMPOSITE TRANSMISSION ELEMENT
A tool string composite transmission element comprising a composite polymeric carrier comprising an electrical conductor embedded therein. The conductor may be connected to ground and to a cable and may be suitable for producing an electromagnetic field within the carrier when energized. The conductor may comprise a tab that may align with a slot within the carrier to prevent rotation of individual carrier fragments or segments strung along the conductor. The carrier may comprise a volume of MCEI particles sufficient to allow the carrier to transmit the electromagnet field to an adjacent carrier. The transmitted field may be used to convey data and power. The carrier may comprise an annular or linear configuration. Also, the carrier may comprise a bumper for securing the carrier within a groove within a tool within the tool string. The carrier may comprise a depression in its outer top surface above the electrical conductor.
REMOTELY ACTIVATED CONNECTION DEVICE FOR A SPIRAL SHOULDER CONNECTION
A remotely activated connecting device for connecting a wellhead and or Christmas tree positioned on a wellhead to a fracing tree that may comprise a collet system for selectively engaging and disengaging from a threaded, spiral, and or flange shoulder that may utilize hydraulics for same.
CONTROL LINE CLAMP
A control line clamp comprising a clamping element for retaining one or more control lines alongside a pipe; a first collar; and a second collar, wherein the clamping element is arranged to be attached to the pipe by positioning the first and second collars around the pipe on opposing sides of the clamping element and moving the first and second collars relatively towards each other in an axial direction.
Internal spiral conduit bearing capacity reinforcing device and method for using the same
A bearing capacity reinforcing device. The bearing capacity reinforcing device comprises: a reinforcing mechanism having a reinforcing body and a reinforcing disc connected to a lower portion of the reinforcing body, a plurality of reinforcing rib plates being spaced apart in a circumferential direction of the reinforcing body and connected to the reinforcing disc; wherein the reinforcing disc is provided with a plurality of accommodating spaces which are spaced apart in a circumferential direction thereof and provided therein with a movable sector plate, respectively, and the reinforcing disc at each of the accommodating spaces is provided with a perforated portion which can be blocked by the sector plate; and a connecting portion having a male buckle end connected to a lower end of the reinforcing body, and a female buckle end connected to an upper end of the reinforcing body. The present disclosure can increase the area of action between the riser or the surface conduit and the seabed soil, thereby increasing the bearing capacity of the conduit to ensure the safety and high efficiency of on-site exploration and development operations.
SELECTIVE CONNECTION OF ANNULAR REGIONS
A method and apparatus for selective connection of a first fluid communication region to a further fluid communication region at a subsea location and a flexible pipe are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a valve body that includes a primary passageway extending from a first port of the valve body, and connectable to a first fluid communication region, to a further port of the valve body, connectable to a further fluid communication region, the valve body comprising a channel intersecting the primary passageway and extending between an open channel end and a closed channel end; at least one slidable member comprising a slidable body locatable in the channel and comprising a slidable member fluid passage extending through or around the slidable body; and at least one biasing element locatable proximate to at least one of the open channel end or closed channel end, for biasing the slidable body towards the open channel end; wherein the slidable member is slidable along a longitudinal axis of the channel responsive to a local environmental pressure provided at the open channel end.
