A pet staircase may be formed by joining modular units to each other in succession and that overlie a household staircase. They are retained in position over the household staircase. Each modular unit has stairs and/or ramps. The treads may be adjusted so that they all are parallel to each other and extend horizontally.

A ramp transportation system for a wheelchair enables transportation, deployment, and retrieval of a portable ramp by a single wheelchair occupant in the absence of external aid. The device comprises: a platform, configured to support the width of a wheelchair for crossing the platform, having a sufficient stiffness to support a wheelchair and occupant load; a lifting mechanism interface in the platform, disposed at least near each end of the ramp, configured to support cantilever lifting forces on the ramp; a lifting element, configured to engage the lifting mechanism interface and to apply a force to raise and lower the platform between a raised, stowed position and a lowered position, suitable for traversal; and a motor, configured to supply sufficient force on the lifting element to raise and lower the platform.

A pet ramp is provided having two panels in a collapsible arrangement, with a first panel having legs and a second panel able to be cantilevered from the first panel. The second panel extends beyond the legs and is pivotable to rest on any available surface. A stop is provided between the first and second panels to hold a cantilevered deployed position of the second panel.

A ramp system is disclosed which may include first and second components. The first component may include horizontal and vertical portions, and a hook. The horizontal portion may be supported by a lip of a structure, and may have a width equivalent to a length of the lip. The channel may receive a planar component which forms a sloped surface of a ramp.

Hideaway pet ramps of the present disclosure are collapsible, discreet, and greatly facilitate access for pets onto beds, sofas, vehicles, and other elevated areas. This access can be greatly beneficial for infirm, geriatric, overweight, and small pets. Advantageously, pet ramps of the present disclosure also reduce the likelihood of injury for pet owners, such as injuries from lifting an animal onto the bed without the benefit of a ramp. Pet ramps of the present disclosure generally include a thin, rigid housing that discreetly fits underneath a mattress without compromising the comfort of the mattress. The housing forms a pocket configured to store a telescoping, height-adjustable and length-adjustable ramp assembly having an upper slide assembly and a lower slide assembly that may be deployed at any time a pet needs access to/from the bed.

The disclosure includes a device and steps of a method for covering stairs from a first tread run to a last riser with a convertible ramp stair cover of a total variable length. The method includes extending a top end segment from a top joint of the convertible ramp stair cover a variable length to abut a top run of the staircase. The method additionally includes extending a bottom end segment from a bottom joint of the convertible ramp stair cover a variable length to abut the floor adjacent the staircase and changing an angle of the top segment with respect to the convertible ramp stair cover to match a surface of the top run of the staircase. The method yet includes changing an angle of the bottom segment with respect to the convertible ramp stair cover to approach a surface of the floor adjacent the staircase.

A foldable ramp system adjustable between a first position and a second position in which: in the first position, the foldable ramp system includes: a landing region substantially parallel to and elevated above a ground, where the landing region is mounted to a wall; and an inclined region extending from an end of the landing region toward the ground, where the inclined region is mounted to the wall; and in the second position, the landing region and the inclined region are folded against the wall.

A device for helping a wheeled vehicle pass over an obstacle. The device includes a stationary frame with a bottom and two symmetrical parallel side walls; a plate provided with two ends, a first end being movable between a high position and a low position, and an assembly for driving the first end between a low position and a high position. The drive assembly includes: a linear ram mounted under the plate with a stationary end adjacent to the second end and rigidly connected to the bottom, a mobile end, and a carriage movable in horizontal translation and resting on guides mounted on the bottom of the frame. The carriage includes two tappets and a pair of arms, the arms being symmetrical, each arm resting on one of the tappets of the carriage, and each arm supporting the first end of the plate.
