Concealed latch

A vehicle includes a vehicle body that defines an opening, a vehicle door that is movable between a closed position and an open position with respect to the opening, a first surface, and a second surface. The first surface is defined on one of the vehicle body and the door and the second surface is defined on the other of the vehicle body and the door. A first latch portion is concealed behind the first surface. A second latch portion is concealed behind the second surface in an unlatched position and is movable to a latched position in which the second latch portion extends into the first latch portion and engages the first latch portion. A locking structure restrains disengagement of the second latch portion from the first latch portion in the latched position.

A flip cover actuation structure for actuating a flip cover includes a locking device, a rocker, and a driving device. The locking device locks and releases the flip cover. The rocker drives the flip cover to open and close. The driving device comprises a gear and an eccentric device. The driving device is configured to rotate the gear and the eccentric device. The gear drives the rocker. The eccentric device drives the locking device.

BAR LOCK ASSEMBLY

A bar lock assembly including a lock rod defining a rotational axis for the bar lock assembly. The lock rod includes a first elongated lock rod portion and a second lock rod portion. A lengthwise section of the second lock rod portion telescopically extends from a first end of said first lock rod portion when the bar lock assembly is in a first condition. The second lock rod portion is substantially retracted within the first lock rod portion when the bar lock assembly is in a second condition. An elongated handle with opposed ends extends from the lock rod. One end of the handle is pivotally connected to the first lock rod portion to effect rotational movements of the bar lock assembly about the rotational axis. The handle moves in a fixed arc about a fixed pivot point whereat the handle is connected to the first lock rod portion. Linkage connected between the handle and the second lock rod portion telescopically moves the second lock rod portion relative to the first lock rod portion in response to pivotal movement of the handle about the first pivot point. To enhance the ergonomics of this bar lock assembly, the linkage and handle are configured such that an included acute angle ranging between about 35 and about 50 is defined between the handle and the longitudinal axis of the bar lock assembly when the bar lock assembly is in the first or locked condition.

A door latch assembly for a closure pivotable between an open position and a closed position includes an inside housing and an outside housing in juxtaposed relation with one another and mounted to an opening in the closure to define an enclosure. A resilient integral latch post is substantially disposed upon and extending from one of the inside or outside housing, and a corresponding integral receptacle is substantially disposed upon the other of the inside or outside housing. The integral receptacle is aligned with the resilient latch post so as to receive and restrain a notch on the resilient latch post upon a catch on the integral receptacle and thereby secure the inside and outside housing one to the other.

A hook of a lock structure is rotatably supported by a knob. Therefore, a biasing force of a hook biasing spring can be regulated independently from a knob biasing spring. Accordingly, the biasing force of the hook biasing spring can be regulated smaller than a biasing force of the knob biasing spring. As a result, sounds generated when locking the lock structure can be decreased.
