Roller assembly and screen end retention features for a hidden screen assembly and a fenestration assembly

A fenestration assembly includes a sash, a frame surrounding the sash, and at least one screen assembly. The sash includes at least one magnet. The sash is slideably engaged with the frame. The at least one screen assembly includes a roller assembly, a control bar, and screen material attached to the roller assembly and the control bar. The roller assembly is substantially hidden from view. The control bar includes a ferromagnetic material. The screen assembly is configured to apply tension to the screen material to wind the screen material around the roller assembly and to permit the screen material to unwind from the roller assembly under a tension applied to move the control bar away from the roller assembly. The control bar automatically engages the at least one magnet of the sash when the sash is in the closed configuration to attach the control bar to the sash.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ISOLATING OPEN AREAS AND ENCLOSED SPACES AGAINST TRIGGERING EVENTS, ACTIVE SHOOTERS, GUNSHOTS, EXPLOSIVES AND OTHER ACTIVE THREATS
20230152062 · 2023-05-18 ·

Systems and methods are provided for facilitating automated and manual segregation of internal areas within structures in response to active shooter warnings, or other triggering events. Embodiments may provide automated systems and methods, to facilitate simplified and automated (1) deployment of mechanized safety and/or security (bulletproof) curtains, including certain safety curtains comprising, or otherwise formed of, replaceable bulletproof and/or other penetration-resistant materials, and/or (2) actuation of mechanized safety and/or security (bulletproof) doors, to effectively segregate open areas and hallways in buildings. Exemplary embodiments may: (a) limit lines of sight of a perpetrator; (b) interdict bullet flight paths; (c) restrict or eliminate a perpetrator's freedom movement; (d) confine areas of detected explosive ordnance detonations or dispersal of contaminants; (e) provide a means of trapping/isolating a perpetrator; and/or (f) provide local safe havens in active shooter, gunfire, explosive detonation, contaminant dispersal, and like threat scenarios/situations.

A roll-up door (10) with slats (60) rolled on a reel (12) with spiral guides (32) that maintain a tangent between the reel (12) and the closure plane at the point of entry/exit so as to maintain a perpendicular entry and exit with the side guides (36) and reduce friction, increase speed, reduce noise and help keep self-aligning end caps tracking correctly. It can also eliminate hinges between slats and permit each slat to be removed independently, without disassembling the other slats.

Low Friction High Speed Roll Door at High Wind Loads

A high speed roll door is movable between an open and a closed position at an opening of a building. The door includes a flexible curtain and a pair of side columns. Each side column provides an inner track to guide the curtain in vertical movement and restrain the curtain from lateral movement during deployment and retraction. The curtain further includes multiple cross bars supporting the flexible curtain from one of the pair of side columns to the other. Each of the cross bars further includes a first longitudinal bar sandwiching part of the curtain; and a second longitudinal bar pivotally connected to the first longitudinal bar. The hinge has an axis of rotation parallel to the first and the second longitudinal bars. At least a wheel is rotatably affixed to each end of the second longitudinal bar to engage the inner track of each of the side columns.

Rolling gate having a door leaf in the form of a flexible curtain

A high-speed rolling gate comprising a door leaf in the form of a flexible curtain, lateral guides in which lateral edges of the door leaf are received, and a drive which generates a driving force for driving the door leaf, wherein the door leaf has an elastically designed terminating element on a forward edge which is tensioned between the lateral guides by means of laterally applied transverse force components. The driving force of the drive engages on the terminating element of the door leaf and provides the laterally applied transverse force components for tensioning the terminating element of the door leaf and a tension force component substantially directed in the movement direction of the door leaf for closing the door leaf.
