Helical Blade Stabilizer With Line-Of-Sight Faces
A stabilizer for use in a wellbore may include a downhole tubular configured to couple to a downhole conveyance in a wellbore, as well as two or more helical blades extending radially outward from the downhole tubular. The two or more helical blades are oriented about the downhole tubular to form respective flow paths between adjacent blades. Further, each blade of the two or more helical blades may include a line-of-sight face and a gauge ramp. The line-of-sight face is formed adjacent a leading inner blade wall of the blade at a lower end of the blade and is angularly offset from the leading inner blade wall. The gauge ramp extends from an outer surface of the downhole tubular toward an outer blade surface of the blade proximate the lower end of the blade.
Sand screen system with adhesive bonding
A sand screen system includes a tubular. The tubular includes at least one through-port from an outer surface of the tubular to an inner surface of the tubular. Further, the sand screen system includes a filtering portion positioned over the at least one through-port on the outer surface of the tubular. A moldable material couples the filtering portion to the tubular.
Downhole production casing string
The present invention relates to a downhole production casing string for insertion in a borehole in a reservoir, the downhole production casing string having a first end nearest a top of the borehole and a second end furthest away from the top, the downhole production casing string extending along a longitudinal axis and comprising at least one opening which during production allows hydrocarbon-containing fluid from the reservoir into the downhole production casing string, a plurality of casing parts having end sections and a base section between the end sections, the base section having an outer diameter, and at least one annular projecting element having an outer face and at least one helical groove arranged in or on the outer face and having an overall outer diameter which is larger than the outer diameter of the base section. Furthermore, the invention relates to a downhole production casing string system for completing a well downhole and to a method of implementing a production casing string according to the invention.
Work String Tubing Connection Restoration
A hardfacing metal composition and method of restoring worn work string tubing by application of a hardfacing metal to the worn regions of the work string tubing.
ANTI-WHIRL STABILIZATION TOOLS
A stabilizer can include an outer collar, an inner sleeve, and a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism is changeable between a first mode in which the outer collar is rotationally fixed to the inner sleeve and a second mode in which the outer collar is rotationally isolated relative to the inner sleeve. The stabilizer may include an active or passive system for changing modes. An example passive device may include a magnetic clutch where the detected force overcomes magnetic forces to change mode. The stabilizer can be used to mitigate whirl on a rotating device by switching the rotating device between a rotating mode and a non-rotating mode. In the rotating mode, outer collar may rotate with the inner sleeve. In the non-rotating mode, the outer collar may be rotationally isolated from the inner sleeve.
Spacer Segment and A Spacer
The present invention provides a spacer (11) and a spacer segment (13). One or more spacer segments (13) form the spacer (11). The one or more spacer segments (13) are adapted to be interconnected and fitted to/on a first surface. The spacer segment (13) comprises a first collar portion (17), a second collar portion (19), and at least one support assembly (15) extending between the first collar portion and the second collar portion. The at least one support assembly is movable from a normal position, wherein no or minimal force is exerted on the support assembly, to a compressed position, wherein the support assembly supports a load or a portion of a load.
Chromium-free thermal spray composition, method, and apparatus
A method for applying a composition to a substrate, and a downhole component, of which the method includes thermal spraying a layer of the composition onto the substrate, the substrate being provided by a downhole component, the layer resulting from the thermal spraying having a thickness of at least about 0.10 inches and being configured to remain bonded to the downhole component when used downhole in a well, the composition being chromium-free.
Downhole ratchet mechanism and method
A downhole ratchet is utilized between tubulars in the drill string to reduce torsion energy in the drill string. The downhole ratchet is constructed to release when the tubular below the ratchet spins faster than the tubular above the ratchet. When the tubular below spins more slowly or at the same speed then the ratchet mechanism locks the upper and lower tubulars together to rotate the bit. The effect is to release torsional energy in the drill string to reduce and eliminate slip stick oscillations.
Cleaning Tool and Method
A downhole cleaning tool (40) adapted for location in bore-lining tubing (22). The tool (40) comprises a tubular body (42) defining an internal bore (48), at least one radially extending cleaning blade (92), and an external axially extending bypass flute (96, 98, 100, 102). The body further defines a fluid flow path from the internal bore (48) to at least one elongated jetting slot (94) extending along an outer surface of the blade (92).
FLEXI-STRING FOR WASHOUT BELOW A CASING SHOE
A system includes a flexi-string having a first lateral end, a second lateral end, and an outer diameter. The outer diameter defines an outer circumferential surface, and the outer diameter is smaller than an inner diameter of a casing shoe. The system further includes an anchor disposed on the outer circumferential surface of the first lateral end, where the anchor interacts with the casing shoe, or a last joint of casing, to hold the first lateral end of the flexi-string within the casing shoe. The system also has centralizers located between the first lateral end and the second lateral end of the flexi-string. The centralizers are configured to center the flexi-string within the casing shoe and the washout section. Finally, the system includes a roller guide for lowering the flexi-string inside the casing shoe and to a depth below the washout section of the well.
