Rotating control device having a locking block system

A system for locking a bearing assembly to a rotating control device (RCD) housing is provided. The RCD housing can be coupled to a blowout preventer, and the bearing assembly can be received within the housing, and can comprise a stationary bearing housing having a perimeter channel. A plurality of locking block assemblies are each supported by the housing and are operable between a locked position and an unlocked position. Each locking block assembly comprises a movable block configured to interface with the perimeter channel when in the locked position, and at least one elastic component is situated between the housing and the movable block. The at least one elastic component is configured to automatically bias the movable block in the locked position. Upon supplying fluid pressure via a valve device, the movable block moves to the unlocked position and the at least one elastic component compresses to facilitate removal of the bearing assembly from the RCD housing. Associated systems and methods are provided.

What is provided is a method and apparatus wherein a rotating and reciprocating swivel of adjustable stroke length and shearable by ram blow out preventers can be detachably connected to an annular blowout preventer thereby separating the lower wellbore from the riser. In one embodiment the mandrel of the swivel extends through a sleeve/housing. The sleeve/housing has a wiping arrangement of improved configuration that wipes debris from the mandrel, preventing entry of the debris into the sleeve/housing. Ports enable discharge of the removed debris from the area of the sleeve/housing.

Compact managed pressure drilling system attached to rotating control device and method of maintaining pressure control

A managed pressure drilling manifold provides accurate back pressure control of a well head when drilling. The MPD system provides two paths for the drilling fluid to flow from the RCD to the flowline. The drilling fluid flows along an MPD path sending the drilling fluids through at least one sensor, preferably three sensors, a flow control device, and a flowmeter. The MPD system also provides a bypass path that isolates the flow control device and flowmeter while direct the drilling fluid from the RCD to the bypass to avoid the flow control device and flowmeter. The MPD system provides three valves that direct the drilling fluid in the bypass path or the MPD path.

LOGGING DRONE WITH WIPER PLUG

An autonomous logging drone tool-string including a wiper plug at a downstream end, a logging tool, and a detachable transmitter capsule, and associated methods for cementing a wellbore and logging wellbore information in a single tool-string run downhole. In an aspect, the logging drone tool-string may include a perforating gun and associated methods may include perforating a toe end of the wellbore casing and surrounding cement. In an aspect, the transmitter capsule stores wellbore information from the logging tool. The transmitter capsule may be detached, pumped to the surface, and retrieved for accessing the stored wellbore information.

Leak monitoring, alarm and control system for machinery stuffing boxes

A stuffing box leak detection system utilizes a reflective member on the outside surface of the stuffing box. A photoelectric sensor emits a light beam which is directed at the reflective member and a reflective beam is reflected back to the photoelectric sensor by the reflective member. A processor is connected to the photoelectric sensor, where the processor is configured to detect a change in intensity of the reflected beam. Upon detecting a change in the intensity of the reflected beam, the processor activates a trip alarm. Notifications of the trip alarm may be distributed to pre-selected recipients. The processor may also activate a camera directed at the stuffing box to provide still images or live stream video to recipients.
