A set of components that can be used to construct a structurally sound dock are disclosed. The components can be extruded and the components are shaped such that interconnected components provide support for the other components thereby alleviating weak points due to welded only joints. A fascia channel provides additional strength by including structures that improve the vertical and horizontal strength of the fascia channel. HDPE plastic inserts and sheaves provide sound dampening for metal to metal contact points. Other components include a corner connector, a post system and a hinge system.

Dock building apparatus and method of construction using the same

A dock building apparatus comprises a cantilever arm (11) having a first portion configured to be supported on a ground area and a second portion for overhanging a construction area. The cantilever arm (11) is displaceable perpendicularly to the length of the cantilever arm. The apparatus further includes a lifting device (19) movable along the cantilever arm for bringing construction materials including foundation members from the ground area to the second portion of the cantilever arm, and a foundation building tool (15) movable along the cantilever arm for installing the foundation members in the construction area.

A solar power system for a marine dock includes a telescoping vertical member affixed to a dock via a bracket. A solar panel is pivotably and rotatably affixed to the top end of the telescoping vertical support. A weatherproof equipment container is affixed to the telescoping vertical support. A meter unit, battery, and inverter are housed within the weatherproof equipment container. First leads connect the solar panel to the meter unit, which is configured to measure and display energy and/or power generated by the solar panel. Second leads are configured so that current is passed through the meter unit to the battery in a charging configuration. A third lead connects one terminal of the battery to a measurement terminal on the meter unit, which is configured to measure and display the output voltage of the battery. Fourth leads connect the battery to the inverter in a discharge configuration.

Dock Mountable Floatation Mat Storage Assembly

A dock mountable floatation mat storage assembly includes a first mount and a second mount each attached to dock. Each of the first and second mounts includes a base that has an inward portion, an outward portion and a central portion positioned between the inward and outward portions. The inward portion has an aperture extending therethrough. A riser has a top end and a bottom end. The bottom end is attached to the outward portion of the base and extends upwardly away therefrom. A fastener extends through the aperture and through the dock such that the fastener releasably secures the base to the dock. A spindle is positioned on and extends between the top ends of the first and second mounts. The spindle is rotatable relative to the first and second mounts and engages a floating mat such that the floating mat is rolled upon and storable on the spindle.
