HYPOCHLOROUS ACID SOLUTIONS FOR THE TREATMENT OF DRUG RESISTANT PNEUMONIA AND TUBERCULOSIS
20220323489 · 2022-10-13 · ·

Systems and methods for treating drug resistant pneumonia and tuberculosis using hypochlorous acid (HOCl) are disclosed. Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to nebulizing HOCl as a method of treating drug resistant bacteria, in particular, bacterial pneumonia pathogens (i.e., Streptococcus pneumoniae) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria. The nebulized HOCl solution may be approximately 180 parts per million (PPM) of the aqueous solution and have a pH of less than 6.

Electrostatic Sprayer

The present invention is directed to an electrostatic sprayer for applying disinfectants, agricultural production, pesticides, and other chemicals and liquid solutions. The electrostatic sprayer may be used for indoor and outdoor applications. The electrostatic sprayer provides a solution tank for holding a treatment solution, a base for holding and protecting the mechanical and electrical components, including a power supply, solution pump, and electrostatic generator, of the electrostatic sprayer, a supply hose, and a spray wand. The solution tank further includes input and exit filters to remove particles that may damage the solution pump of clog the spray wand. The spray wand includes spray nozzles with backflow valves and metering disks to control the flow of the treatment solution and close the valve when the treatment solution is not sufficiently pressurized to pass through the backflow valve to prevent leak when not in use. An electrostatic switch is also provided for selectively powering on the electrostatic generator. The electrostatic generator provides a positive charge to an electrode in the solution tank and a negative charge to a grounding strip in the handle of the spray wand providing a negative pathway through Earth to the objects being treated enhancing the electrical attraction of the treatment solution to those items. A grounding strap is also provided to be worn by the user to reduce the resistance in the path between the grounding strip and Earth by bypassing some of the user's clothing and protective gear that may provide resistance to the path.

Apparatus and method for disinfecting fluids
11661353 · 2023-05-30 · ·

A disinfection apparatus and method is provided for disinfecting a fluid. The apparatus elements define three internal container volumes. Fluid is introduced into an entry volume where its flow is conditioned to reduce splash and slow the fluid flow. The fluid is then channeled into a disinfection volume where a disinfection unit delivers a disinfection agent to the fluid. Finally, the fluid exits the apparatus through an exit volume. In one aspect, a sink-trap is disclosed in which wastewater liquid contacts a pair of diverters. The diverters have conditioned contact surfaces that slows and spreads the liquid flow and reduces liquid splash. The wastewater then passes through a UV chamber in which it is disinfected. The liquid then exits the sink-trap. Advanced self-cleaning apparatus are additionally disclosed to clean and disinfect the sink-trap and trapped wastewater. The entire apparatus operates under computer control.

SYSTEM FOR CONVEYING STERILIZING FLUID
20230158192 · 2023-05-25 ·

A system and method for conveying a sterilizing fluid to a filling machine includes a refilling tank for containing the sterilizing fluid and from which the sterilizing fluid is drawn, a spray tank fluidly connected to the refilling tank for receiving the sterilizing fluid from the refilling tank and conveying the sterilizing fluid to the filling machine, and a fluid line connecting the refilling tank to the spray tank. A vacuum generator is fluidly connected to the spray tank via a vacuum line and configured to generate a vacuum in the spray tank, such that the vacuum causes sterilizing fluid to be drawn from the refilling tank and into the spray tank.

Disinfecting devices (100) can include an electromagnetic wave emitting device (EWE device 110) configured to emit UV radiation (115) and a light guide (120) having a front surface (121). The light guide can be configured to distribute UV radiation received from the EWE device across the front surface and be partially transmissive of visible light. UV radiation received by the light guide and distributed across the front surface can function to disinfect the front surface. The device may be configured such that when positioned between a use device (140) and a user (150), the use device is observable through the disinfection device. Methods for disinfecting may similarly include emitting UV radiation into a light guide, reflecting and diffusing UV radiation within the light guide across the front surface of the light guide thereby disinfecting the front surface; and receiving an interaction with a use device through the disinfection device via the front surface from a user.

A Steam Disinfestation Inline System and Apparatus for Agricultural Bud or Leaf Products

The present invention provides systems and methods for treating agricultural particulates, such as buds, Cannabis buds, herbs, leaves, and the like, with a treatment agent, such as steam, as the agricultural products move forward along a pathway created by a conveyer, in a chamber, enclosed by an aligned ceiling and floor, and oppositely disposed lateral walls. The exposure times to the steam, created by the intervals and lengths in which steam enters the chamber results in the elimination (destruction) and/or neutralization of the pathogens on the agricultural particulates, while the agricultural particulates remain undamaged and active.
