A connector is disclosed for use in forming a joint between a first surface and a second surface. The connector comprises a housing. The connector also comprises a tendon. A portion of the tendon can protrude from the housing through a seal. The seal is configured to sealably cover an open end of the housing such that the tendon can move through the seal and laterally sideways across the open end together with at least a portion of the seal. Also disclosed is a connector system for use in forming a joint, and a method of installing a connector to form a joint, between a first surface and a second surface. The connector system and method comprises and makes use of the housing and the tendon.

Foundation connection device for use during construction of concrete wall panels
10221558 · 2019-03-05 ·

The present invention relates to a foundation connection device to assist in the construction and mounting of tilt-up and precast concrete wall panels used to form walls of a building. The device comprises a base plate with an upwardly angled post with a cavity defined therethrough formed on an upper surface of the plate. At a first end of the post an opening is defined through the plate, and at a second end of the post a flange with a passage is formed. An anchor rod extends upwardly from the post. The device is secured to a concrete foundation by inserting a square rod through the post into a pre-drilled hole in the foundation.

A concrete anchor assembly includes a housing having a top opening; the housing including a bottom wall with a bottom opening; the bottom wall including a ramp surface extending upwardly and away from the bottom opening; a split nut disposed on the bottom wall and over the bottom opening; and a spring biased to force the split nut toward a bottom of the ramp surface.

CONCRETE DOWEL PLACEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
20190024367 · 2019-01-24 ·

A concrete dowel placement system and methods for making the same. The system allows for accurate and easy substantially-parallel or parallel placement of slip dowels within sections of concrete so that adjacent sections of concrete may be allowed to undergo thermal expansion and contraction while remaining in a common plane without cracking or faulting. The system includes a coupler and a sheath. The sheath is configured to be slidably extensible over the coupler and may be held to the coupler by friction. An outer surface of the sheath may be textured. Additionally, a method of constructing the concrete dowel placement system includes extruding material to form two tubes of different sizes. The tubes are then attached to each other, then material is extruded or injection molded to form a sheath. Alternatively, construction may include extruding material to form a tube, then removing some of the material from the tube in order to form a coupler.

SYSTEM FOR ANCHOR MOUNTING

CONNECTOR FOR PRECAST CONCRETE STRUCTURES

An apparatus, system, and method is provided to connect precast concrete panels to a structural member. The connector can have a receiving member embedded in a precast concrete panel and can further have an attachment member that selectively interconnects to the receiving member. This attachment member can have a surface that is oriented substantially perpendicular to the precast concrete panel and that receives or supports a structural member such as a floor joist or a second precast concrete panel. The configuration of a protrusion of the attachment member allows for a rapid and secure interconnection with an aperture in the receiving member. A builder can use the connector system described herein to rapidly and securely assemble multiple precast concrete panels to structural members in the construction of, for example, a parking garage or other similar structure.

Embedded dowel inserts with dowel retention mechanisms and dowel insert tube extenders
10100511 · 2018-10-16 ·

A dowel supporting device that includes a substantially hollow tube having a top end and a bottom end. An opening may be formed at the top end and a base may be formed at the bottom end. The base of the dowel supporting device may be fastened to a concrete deck. Concrete may be poured into the concrete deck. When dowels are ready to be used, the dowels may be inserted and secured to the dowel supporting device. A cap or thin sealed covering may be placed at the top end of the hollow tube to prevent infiltration of concrete into the tube during a concrete pour. The cap or thin sealed covering may include a raised portion of material which aids in locating the hollow tube after a concrete slab cures around it. A dowel tube extender may be provided which extends a hollow tube to accommodate different concrete slab thicknesses.
