The present invention also provides a use for said wound dressing composition for acute and chronic wounds, as well as method of preparation for making the same.

Polymer foam material, device and use

Flexible polyurethane (PU) material which comprises a flexible hydrophilic polyurethane foam porous matrix comprising two matrix faces and therebetween a structural matrix framework defining a network of cells, having a cell network surface and therein a network of pores and a powder charge comprising one or more additives loaded in said structural matrix framework wherein said material is a foamed polymer of a system comprising an isocyanate prepolymer or monomer phase and an aqueous phase, wherein said system comprises one or more slurry phases or solid concentrates of said powder charge, or an insoluble portion thereof, as said isocyanate phase or part thereof and/or as said aqueous phase or part thereof and/or in a carrier liquid phase; and/or comprising a powder charge of silver salt loaded in said structural matrix framework in a population of silver salt particles defined by particle size distribution about a mean particle size of greater than or equal to 1 micron, said material comprising silver salt in population of particles corresponding to silver salt comprised in powder charge pre-loading; methods for manufacture thereof, systems for control thereof, devices containing said material and methods for treatment therewith and uses thereof.

Anti-microbial hydrogel

Hydrogels are provided that include an antimicrobial agent and a cross-linkable urethane-based polymer (CUP). Such hydrogels may be used for the controlled-release of antimicrobial agents as well as in the manufacturing of wound dressings. Wound dressings are provided that comprise a hydrogel as defined herein.

Cold sore treatment formulation and related method of application-liquid patch for treatment of viral lesions
11311494 · 2022-04-26 · ·

A formulation of a discrete liquid patch for the treatment of cold sores or viral lesions, including a combination of the adhesive layer and an active compound/ingredient such as antiviral agents, and/or amino acids, and/or minerals/vitamins. The adhesive layer of the discrete patch is substantially free of hydrocolloid particles. The adhesive layer does not include any backing layer to maintain the compliance of the patch with a thickness ranging from 5 microns to 1,300 microns. Wherein, the discrete patch of the invention is configured to apply to a viral lesion to maintain in contact therewith for a time effective to substantially complete re-epithelialization of the lesion.

Hemostatic mixture of cellulose-based short and long fibers

The invention relates to a hemostatic composition comprising a mixture of cellulose-based short and long fibers, preparation and use thereof.

The present invention provides a surgical drape such that even when it is incised or punctured with a surgical tool in a state where it is pasted to an uneven surface having a low smoothness or to a part having a high curvature, such as a hand, a leg, or the head, a part subjected to incision or the like and its surroundings are unlikely to peel off, the surgical drape having excellent handling properties and safety. The surgical drape is a surgical drape 10 provided with a tacky layer 5 to be incised or punctured with a surgical tool, the tacky layer 5 having a tacky surface 2 to be brought into contact with a region including a surgery site of a living body. The surgical drape 10 has a Young's modulus of 10.0 MPa or less and may further be provided with a film-like base material 15 disposed by lamination on a surface on an opposite side of the tacky surface 2 of the tacky layer 5.

CONTROLLED RELEASE IODINE STRUCTURE FOR USE WITH WOUND CARE

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for generating and releasing iodine are described. Some embodiments may include a dressing member including a plurality of iodine-forming reagents and a water-swellable material. In some embodiments, the dressing member may include water-swellable fibers. The water-swellable fibers may each include a water-swellable material in which iodine-forming reagents are dispersed. As liquid comes into contact with and is absorbed by the water-swellable material, the iodine-forming reagents may come into contact with each other, causing an iodine-forming reaction to occur, producing iodine.

HEMORRHAGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

An embodiment includes a wound dressing comprising: a shape memory polymer (SMP) foam, including open cells, having first and second states; and a hydrogel (HG) included within the cells; wherein (a) in a first position a composite, including the SMP foam and the HG, is configured to be located proximate a hemorrhagic tissue with the SMP foam in the first state; (b) in a second position the composite is configured to be expanded to the second state against the hemorrhagic tissue when the SMP foam is plasticized at 37° C. depressing a glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) of the SMP foam to below 25° C. Other embodiments are described herein.
