VOLUMETRIC MODULAR UNIT FOR MODULAR BUILDING CONSTRUCTION
20230110008 · 2023-04-13 · ·

A volumetric modular unit constructed at a modular unit factory and shipped assembled to a modular building project site is disclosed. A modular building constructed from shipped volumetric modular units is also disclosed. Features of a volumetric modular unit and modular building are designed to account for and leverage traditional building practices. Shipping constraints often dictate volumetric modular unit design constraints. The volumetric modular unit and modular constructed building addresses both design needs and shipping constraints to leverage more economical resources available at a volumetric modular unit manufacturing plant.

CONVEYOR SYSTEM
20230107155 · 2023-04-06 ·

A conveyor system for translating objects is disclosed, each object with vertical protrusions extending upward and/or downward from one or more sides of the object. The conveyor system can accommodate structural members such as roof truss members, on which connector plates are affixed and from which the connector plates protrude vertically up, down, or both. The conveyor system may have a slide or some other support for the objects. The slide or other support may be narrow. The slide or other support can be tall, relative to an object. The conveyor system may have an engagement tool driven by an overhead carriage to translate the objects along the slide or other support. The engagement tool may be narrow. The engagement tool can be tall, relative to an object.

Glued timber truss

INSULATED CONSTRUCTION MEMBER
20220049498 · 2022-02-17 ·

An insulated construction member has a first wooden rail and a second wooden rail. The second wooden rail is positioned in parallel spaced relation to the first wooden rail. This parallel spaced relation creates a thermal break between the first wooden rail and the second wooden rail. A series of planar wooden connectors are positioned at spaced intervals along the length of the first wooden rail and the length of the second wooden rail. Each of the planar wooden connectors extends across the thermal break between the first wooden rail and the second wooden rail. A polymer insulation is positioned between the first wooden rail and the second wooden rail completely filling the thermal break. The polymer insulation encapsulates the series of planar wooden connectors, with the polymer insulation being reinforced by the series of planar wooden connectors.

THERMAL BREAK WOOD STUD WITH RIGID INSULATION WITH NON-METAL FASTENERS AND WALL FRAMING SYSTEM
20170247883 · 2017-08-31 · ·

A thermal break wood and rigid insulation stud is comprised of two non-dimensional lumber sections with a thermal break section of rigid foam insulation therebetween. A non-metallic truss arrangement of mechanical fasteners holds the lumber and insulation sections secured together greatly improving the strength of the thermal break wood and rigid insulation stud. The studs in a wall are 24″ on center. The studs are used for headers and sills and also may be used for top and bottom plates. The corners have an exterior all wood stud, an interior all wood stud and an interior all wood stud adjacent to the interior wood stud completing the interior corner for nailing gypsum board thereto. This corner has a thermal break space between the exterior and interior wood studs for insulation placement. The corners may also have two 3×6 thermal studs oriented 90 degrees from each other and an interior all wood stud for completing the interior corner for nailing gypsum board thereto. This corner arrangement also has a thermal break through its construction.

Truss jigging system and method
11426857 · 2022-08-30 · ·

A truss-jig-positioning system that includes a truss-assembly table having a support plane, a plurality of slots in the support plane, and a plurality of puck assemblies automatically movable along the slots. Each puck is self-powered and self-locks at selected locations. A controller controls the pucks. Images of the truss-assembly table and pucks allow the controller to locate pucks, and transmit location-correction information as needed to move pucks to desired locations for building various trusses, wall assemblies, etc. Pucks are self-powered, self-moving, motorized jigging members. Each operates from controller commands to unlock from one location, move along their slot and lock to a new location. Optionally location-measuring (machine-vision) subsystem(s) communicate wirelessly with the pucks to readjust positions and re-lock at the adjusted position. Optionally, the jigging pucks can automatically move along slots to connect to a recharging station to self-recharge on-puck batteries or supercapacitors.

Lamella core and a method for producing it

A semi product for building panels or structural elements comprising several wood lamellas (5) fixed by distance elements (4), a building panel with such a semi product and a method of producing the semi product and the building panel. A method of producing a semi-product for a structural element or for a core for a building panel, wherein the method comprises the step of: attaching at least two distance strips by an adhesive to a first wood board; attaching a second wood board to the distance strips by an adhesive; and cutting the first and the second wood boards and the distance strips in the length direction of the wood boards.
