Method of Waterproofing Building Roofs and Building Panels
20180245348 · 2018-08-30 · ·

A sealing method developed for a roofing system alternative to conventional asphalt shingles or metal roof coverings and for sealing walls and floors for tiled surfaces such as shower stalls and the like. The concepts described herein are readily applicable to waterproofing most kinds of walls, ceilings, roofs and floors, and any fixtures or other components that must pass through the wall, ceiling, roof or floor.

DRY-CAST LIGHTWEIGHT VENEER BLOCK, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
20180179762 · 2018-06-28 ·

Described are dry cast lightweight veneer blocks and a system and method of installing lightweight veneer blocks. The courses can be assembled without mortar between the courses. As an example, sides of the veneer blocks have areas that recede from an imaginary plane between adjacent veneer blocks to give a deep texturing and a shadow effect between veneer blocks. The installation system and method include a substrate, an air barrier applied to the substrate, a plurality of veneer blocks, and an adhesive applied between the plurality of veneer blocks and the air barrier.

OUTER-WALL HEAT-INSULATING FINISHING MATERIAL
20180163409 · 2018-06-14 ·

The present invention relates to a heat-insulating finishing material and, more particularly, to an outer-wall heat-insulating finishing material configured such that tiles can be arranged on the heat-insulating material at a predetermined interval using an interval plate, by applying mortar to the bottom surface and the upper, lower, left, and right surfaces of the tiles, the tiles can be firmly attached to the surface of the heat-insulating material, and, by means of a change in shape of the interval plate and an intaglio pattern formed on the surface of the heat-insulating material, the tiles, which are fitted to the interval plate and attached to the surface of the heat-insulating material, can remain attached, with a maximized attaching force, regardless of various external forces.

Facade structure

A facade structure comprises a load-bearing underground, an insulating layer fastened to the load-bearing underground, said insulating layer being made of dimensionally-stable insulating panels with flat and supporting outer surfaces, and a tile covering which forms the outer skin of the facade structure and which comprises a plurality of tile elements fastened to the insulating layer by way of an adhesive, wherein the adhesive is designed to be elastic and is applied to the tile elements and/or the insulating layer in point or row-like fashion, and that spacers are disposed between the tile elements and the insulating layer, said spacers defining hollow interconnected spaces between the individual tile elements and the insulating layer.

VENEER UNDERLAYMENT
20180127989 · 2018-05-10 ·

An underlayment for use between a veneer material and a foundation surface includes a base layer and a series of individual supports extending upwardly from the base layer and configured to create voids in a layer of bonding material used to adhere the veneer material to the underlayment. Each of the individual supports includes an outer wall extending upwardly from the base layer and terminating at an upper lip, the outer wall extending around a perimeter of each of the supports. A protrusion extends from one of the upper lip or the outer wall to form an overhang beneath which a heating element is fitted. An internal wall extends downwardly and inwardly from the upper lip to at least partially define a cavity at least partially circumscribed by the outer wall within each of the individual supports. A space is defined between the internal wall and the external wall.

Recycled Bottle Cap Blacksplash Assembly and Method for Use
20180119428 · 2018-05-03 ·

A method and assembly kit for installing recycled, repurposed bottle caps affixed to a woven, mesh sheet onto a prepared support surface such as a kitchen, wet bar, or bar, backsplash. In addition these sheets can be made to accommodate installation in various other applications including bar tops and table tops. Each sheet, whether square or utilizing a tongue and groove interlocking construction, will exhibit a number of evenly spaced, bottle caps affixed to a mesh woven layer that is made to accept bottle caps in a perpetual stationary state and allow for installation to a fixed vertical or horizontal surface in a timely and, efficient manner using industry standard materials and practices.

Faced ceiling system

A ceiling system in one embodiment conceals joints between adjoining ceiling panels to provide a monolithic ceiling appearance. The system includes the support structure and ceiling panels each having a top surface, bottom surface, and peripheral edges. In one embodiment, the peripheral edges of the panels may have a hybrid edge detail including a first edge profile and a second edge profile different than the first. A facing material, bonded to the bottom surfaces of ceiling panels after securement to the support structure, has a continuous uninterrupted extent to cover and conceal multiple panels and joints. The facing may be adhesively bonded to the panels.

System and method for installing tile
09909322 · 2018-03-06 ·

A system and method for installing tile includes the use of fasteners and washers that are installed into the interstitial gaps of the tiles or installed through the face of the tile. The washers and fasteners create a downward pressure on the tiles to align the edges of the tiles and to ensure that the tiles conform to the surface to which they are applied, thereby significantly reducing or minimizing the occurrence of gaps or voids between the installation surface and the tiles. Once the tiles are fixed in position and the adhesive has set or cured, the washers and fasteners are removed and the interstitial spaces or gaps between the tiles is grouted and the tile can be painted or stained. Additionally, the method of manufacturing decorative concrete tiles uses flexible rubber molds to achieve a variety of unique shapes, patterns, and textures.

IMPERVIOUS WALL PANEL
20180058076 · 2018-03-01 · ·

A wall panel (20, 30) suitable for bathrooms, wetrooms and the like is disclosed. The panel is water impervious and comprises a core of wood plastics composite (WPC) and a laminate adhesively attached to the core. In preferred embodiments, the core is a wood plastics composite foamed board. The wood plastics composite preferably comprises PVC and wood fibre. The wood plastics composite may include recycled materials. The wall panel may be provided with a tongue-and-groove interlocking system with tongue and groove edges (21, 31 and 32). The system is configured to provide a contact area across less than the thickness of the panel which achieves a tight join at the front face and eliminates a visible gap. It also increases tolerance for machining errors or variation. The tongue-and-groove interlocking system is designed to provide tolerance for walls which are not precisely planar but may be bowed or uneven to a certain extent.

A wall panel system is provided that includes a series of interlocking wall panels with a pressure-adherent backing. The wall panels are configured to be placed on a wall in interlocking fashion, with the interlocking attributes contributing to the overall appearance of the panel. In one aspect, surface features are provided on the wood panels that add surface texture to the panel by laser burning into the surface of the wood panel. The width of the surface features can be changed by adjusting the properties of the laser, such as beam focus. The wood panels are conveniently sized so that they can be easily manipulated for interlocking placement on the wall.
