Low profile circular drain with water stop for swimming pool

A sump drain includes a ring-shaped chamber having an inner sidewall with a diameter of at least about 18 inches and an outer sidewall, and a circular opening between the sidewalls preferably about an inch wide and optionally having a grid cover. Preferably the inner sidewall has a number of ports extending inwardly to radial conduits to a central hub for tying into a pool or spa filtering system, with the central hub operating as a clean out and having a removable cap. Upon installation, plaster substantially fills the space between the chamber and the central hub, such that the sump drain attractively blends in with the pool or spa floor. When installed, the top opening is preferably substantially flush with the pool or spa floor while being safely unblockable. And the sump drain preferably further includes channels both outboard and inboard from the chamber top opening and around the central hub, to help prevent water from passing through the plaster into the shotcrete of the pool or spa.

Valve assemblies principally for in-floor swimming pool cleaning systems

Detailed are valve assemblies principally for use as part of in-floor cleaning systems for swimming pools. The assemblies may use mechanisms for converting continuous rotation into discontinuous rotation, changing the timing of water distribution to different outlet of the assemblies. One such mechanism includes both an impeller, whose blades are rotated continuously by impingement of pressurized water, and a Geneva drive, whose driven wheel is rotated discontinuously by one or more associated drive wheels.

Aggregate retaining devices for drains and drain covers
10648188 · 2020-05-12 ·

A drain assembly can be installed in a wall for containing an artificial body of water, such as a pool bottom and/or sidewalls. The drain assembly can be used with a water circulation system for the artificial body of water. The drain assembly has a plaster attachment device for securing a plaster mixture to the drain assembly. The plaster mixture can substantially match or look similar to the surface of the pool bottom and/or sidewalls.

Main drain outlet for a swimming pool
10519681 · 2019-12-31 ·

A unitary main drain suction outlet for a swimming pool and outlet system is presently disclosed. The unitary main drain suction outlet has a water inlet comprising a sole slot opening, a water flow through portion disposed between the water inlet and a water exit. The water flow through portion is void of a sump and configured for the flow through of water from the water inlet to the water exit. The water inlet and the water flow through portions are configured for the flow through of water substantially in a linear direction from the water inlet toward the water exit.

A high flow drain cover assembly for a water feature is provided herein. The drain cover assembly can be interchangeably used as an open flow system or as a grated flow system. The drain cover assembly has a concave upper sump cover adapted to seat a surface finish so that the visual appearance of the drain cover assembly matches the surround surface into which the drain cover assembly is installed. The base of the drain cover assembly is shaped to reinforce the cover and define flow paths that allow flow rates of over 300 gallons per minute to pass through the drain cover assembly.
