Latching assembly
A latching assembly for a gate comprising: a latch operative to adopt a latched condition, the latch comprising one or more members coupled together, each latch member extending along a longitudinal axis; and a lock comprising a lock portion adjustable from a retracted to a projected configuration to bring the lock portion into engagement with the or at least one of the latch members in the projected configuration so as to lock the latch in its latched condition.
Method and apparatus for adjustable gate latch
An adjustable-latch system including an adjustable-receiver assembly and an adjustable-striker-bar assembly. The adjustable-receiver assembly includes a receiver sleeve having a pair of oppositely-disposed channels formed therein and a receiver slidably disposed within the pair of oppositely-disposed channels. A first plurality of fastening members mount the receiver sleeve. The adjustable-receiver assembly further includes a receiver-sleeve cap slidably disposed within the receiver sleeve. The adjustable-striker-bar assembly includes a mounting plate having a striker bar extending laterally therefrom, a second plurality of fastening members for mounting the mounting plate, and a striker-bar cap slidably coupled with the mounting plate. A position of the adjustable-receiver assembly may be adjusted relative to the adjustable-striker-bar assembly without removal of the first plurality of fastening members. A position of the adjustable-striker-bar assembly may be adjusted relative to the adjustable-receiver assembly without removal of the second plurality of fastening members.
ADJUSTABLE DOOR STRIKE PLATE AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
A door strike plate that can be temporarily mounted to a first location for proper alignment, tested while still temporarily mounted and moved to a second location if the first location is not properly aligned. It comprises a metal strike plate having a plurality of mounting screw holes on either side of a centrally-located latch hole; an appropriately sized dot of an adhesive/putty applied to a region adjacent each mounting screw hole. The door strike plate further includes a permanent mounting screw for each mounting screw hole in the metal strike plate.
Latch assembly
A latch assembly includes coplanar pairs of magnets that engage each other when the latch assembly is in a closed position in order to secure the latch assembly in the closed position. A related appliance with features for selectively securing a door of the appliance in a closed position is also provided.
Door Strike Plate with Adjustable Subplate
An apparatus and method for adjusting a door latching mechanism is shown and illustrated. The apparatus comprises a subplate and a strike plate. The subplate is installed against a door frame at latching location underneath the strike plate. The subplate has a front side and a rear side with different widths and defining a bolt aperture. The user can install the subplate in any variation to present an additional latching edge to a latch bolt. In addition, the subplate may have an adjustable tab which may be positioned inward toward the door frame or outward away from the door frame. The adjustable tab presents an additional latching edge for the latch bolt.
Security sliding barrier
A security sliding barrier with a sliding panel, a fixed panel, a latch channel, a lock, a strike plate, and an interlock assembly. The sliding panel is positioned between the latch channel and the fixed panel. The latch channel mounts to the frame distal to the fixed panel and the lock is mounted on the sliding panel and extends toward the latch channel. The strike plate is attached to the latch channel and has a receiver aligned with the lock that receives the lock when the security sliding barrier moves to a closed position, locking the first side of the sliding panel to the latch channel. The interlock assembly has a fixed interlock on the fixed panel and a sliding interlock on the sliding panel that engage when the security sliding barrier is in the closed position, locking the second side of the sliding panel to the fixed panel.
Adjustable striker for a vehicle and method for adjusting the adjustable striker
A striker includes a striker pad, a wire, a securing element, and a deformable spacer. The securing element exerts a securing force. The spacer includes a first end that receives the securing force and a second end that contacts the vehicle body. The spacer creates a clearance between the striker pad and the vehicle body when a first torque value is applied to the securing element so that the striker pad is movable along a first axis through a force exerted by the latch of a vehicle door, the latch cooperating with the wire when closing the door. The spacer is configured to deform to allow contact between the striker pad and the vehicle body when a second torque value is applied to the securing element.
Sliding door unit and components for the same
A sliding door unit has a mounting frame and an active door panel mounted in and capable of sliding relative to the mounting frame. The active door panel has a face including a panel portion and a glazing portion. The glazing portion comprises less than 65% of a surface area of the face.
Electric strike assembly
An electric strike assembly includes a housing including a mounting device and defining an internal longitudinal cavity, a keeper pivotally arranged in the housing, and a selectively locatable component including a locking device to cooperate with the mounting device to secure the component at a predetermined incremental position along the length of the removable cavity. In accordance with other aspects of the present invention, an electric strike assembly includes a housing defining an internal longitudinal cavity, a keeper pivotally arranged in the housing, and a keeper shim assembly, including a shim, slidably engaged with the keeper to position the shim at a predetermined position along a length of the cavity. A method of securely capturing a latch bolt mounted in a door includes mounting an electric strike assembly in an associated door jamb and positioning a shim at a predetermined position in the cavity.
DOOR STRIKE HAVING A KICKER AND AN ADJUSTABLE DEAD LATCH RELEASE
An actuator-controlled strike comprising a housing disposable within a doorframe and including a cavity for a spring latch and a dead latch of a mortise-type lockset. A keeper is pivotably mounted within the chamber to engage the spring latch. A pivotably mounted kicker cooperates with the keeper. A pivotably mounted dead latch release is supported by the keeper when the spring latch is within the strike. The keeper is released by the actuator and rotates into a position to ramp the spring latch out of the strike, also allowing the dead latch release to release the dead latch into the cavity, allowing the spring latch to be ramped out of the strike. Pivoting the keeper causes the kicker to urge the spring latch onto an exit ramp on a face of the keeper. The dead latch release can be installed in a plurality of different locations in the housing.
