Methods of assembling a manifold for a medical waste collection system
Methods of assembling a manifold for a medical waste collection system. A flapper valve unit is secured to a head of a cap. A filter element is positioned within a shell. Basket hands of the filter element are fitted between first pairs of ribs of the cap skirt. Fingers of the shell are fitted between second pairs of ribs of the cap skirt. The cap is secured to the shell to cover an open distal end of the shell. A drip stop is secured to the proximal end base of the shell to seat within the outlet opening. Ears may be fitted through holes defined by the flapper valve unit and cap holes defined by the cap so as to snap lock to the head of the cap. The hub of the flapper valve unit may be compressed with the ears snap locked to the head of the cap.
SURGICAL DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FACILITATING MULTIPLE FLOW PATH FLUID MANAGEMENT
A fluid management system includes a control console and a cassette. The control console includes a housing, a cassette bay defined within the housing, and an actuation mechanism disposed within the housing and including a plurality of actuators. The cassette is insertable into the cassette bay of the control console and includes a chassis supporting a plurality of fluid flow paths through the cassette, and an outer housing defining at least one access opening providing access to the plurality of fluid flow paths. With the cassette positioned within the cassette bay, each actuator of the plurality of actuators is aligned with an access opening of the at least one access opening to enable each actuator, upon actuation thereof, to close a corresponding fluid flow path of the plurality of fluid flow paths.
LAVAGE FLUID DELIVERY DEVICE AND SYSTEMS
A system for applying a lavage fluid to a surface, the system having a body configured to house a lavage fluid and at least two interchangeable application members configured to be in fluid communication with the body, wherein the at least two interchangeable application members includes a first application member and a second application member, the first application member being configured to dispense the lavage fluid with a first fluid flow force and/or first fluid flow pattern, and the second application member being configured to dispense the lavage fluid with a second fluid flow force and/or second fluid flow pattern that is different from the first fluid flow force and/or fluid flow pattern, respectively.
Interventional catheter assemblies, control consoles and adaptive tubing cassettes
Interventional catheter assemblies, operating systems and adaptive interface components allow operation of a variety of interventional catheter assemblies, including infusion catheters, aspiration catheters and interventional catheters that provide both infusion and aspiration, using a common control console housing infusion and aspiration systems. Adaptive tubing cassettes having a handle and one or more preformed tubing loops route aspiration and/or infusion tubing in a predetermined configuration to mate with aspiration and infusion systems on a control console.
FLUID STORAGE CONTAINER DEGASSING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A fluid delivery system includes a pressure source capable of producing both positive and negative fluid pressure, a fluid infusion line, and a first fluid storage container. The first fluid storage container includes a chamber, a fluid outflow port that is connectable to the fluid infusion line to provide fluid communication between the chamber and the fluid infusion line, a pressure inlet that is connectable to the pressure source, and a filter disposed between the pressure inlet and the chamber. The fluid delivery system further includes a control system configured to cause the fluid pressure source to apply both negative pressure and positive pressure.
Liquid ejecting apparatus
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes: an inflow channel to which liquid is supplied; an outflow channel communicated with a nozzle; a liquid chamber formed with a spiral flow channel having a substantially constant cross-sectional area between the inflow channel and the outflow channel and having a given volume; a volume changing portion configured to deform the liquid chamber so as to change the volume of the liquid chamber to a volume smaller than the given volume; and an ejection control unit configured to cause the liquid to be ejected from the nozzle in a pulsed manner by driving the volume changing portion in a state in which the liquid chamber is filled with the liquid.
NASAL IRRIGATION DEVICE AND SYSTEM WITH FAUX COLLAPSIBLE CARTRIDGE ELEMENT
A nasal irrigation device communicates an irrigant to a device user and comprises a mechanics module and a reservoir assembly wherein a source of saline comprising a cartridge is disposed within the mechanics module adjacent a lid assembly for piercing the cartridge upon closing of a lid for releasing the cartridge contents into the reservoir assembly. A faux collapsible cartridge for testing operability of a nasal irrigation device comprises a housing including a shaft, a spring biased rod extending from the housing shaft, and a flange depending from a housing wall whereby the rod and flange are disposed to actuate a trigger assembly of the nasal irrigation device.
Surgical Irrigation Cassette
A surgical irrigation cassette comprises a cassette housing, a portion of a pump, and fluid pathways. The housing defines a chamber therein and a first console connector including a first pneumatic connector port. The pump portion includes an intake side of the pump and an output side of the pump. The fluid pathways are disposed at least in part within the chamber. A first fluid pathway, in an installed position, connects the intake side of the pump with a supply fluid container. A second fluid pathway, in an installed position, connects the output side of the pump and a handpiece. A third fluid pathway, in an installed position, connects the handpiece and a waste container A fourth fluid pathway, in an installed position, connects the first console connector and the waste container.
PHACOEMULSIFICATION SURGICAL MULTI-USE PACK USAGE TRACKER SYSTEM
A surgical cassette/pack usage tracker for tracking a number of uses for a cassette/pack to prohibit uses from exceeding a maximum amount. A usage tracker system engages with or scans a portion of the cassette/pack to determine the number of uses. In illustrative embodiments, an implement interacts with a film in the cassette after each use and determines remaining uses for the cassette/pack. In other embodiments, an implement interacts with a rotatable wheel that rotates with each use, the implement configured to permit the tracker to identify the number uses and determine remaining uses for the cassette/pack. When a maximum usage amount is reached, the tracker system may issue a warning, eject or reject the cassette/pack and/or disable the surgical device from further use.
Pump and means for controlling a pump
A pump with a controller for adjusting head pressure using a pressure boost is provided. The pressure boost may be dynamically adjusted during a surgical procedure based on the device being used and inflow and/or outflow settings.
