CONFIGURABLE DOOR LOCK
A lock for a door including a configurable lock function. The lock includes a removable and user accessible actuator which when removed from the lock disables a lock function, and when inserted into the lock enables the lock function. Removal of the actuator places the lock in a disabled condition in which the lock cannot be locked by other means. Insertion of the actuator into the lock places the lock in an enabled condition in which the lock is locked or unlocked by the position of the actuator. The lock is installed without the actuator when the lock is intended to be used only in a passage operation where the door provides access only, but does not restrict access. The lock is installed with the actuator when the lock is intended to be used in a privacy operation where the lock is intended to restrict access to an area.
Keyed lockset operable by pivoting actuator about a first axis or a second axis
A lockset (10) is actuable by pivoting a lever (14,16) about a longitudinal axis of the lockset (10) by rotating the lever (14,16) and by pivoting the lever (14,16) about an axis transverse to the lockset axis, such as by pushing or pulling. The lockset (10) includes an inside lever (14) and an outside lever (16), each associated with an independent mechanism, each of which can independently actuate the lockset (10). A keyed locking cylinder (250) is disposed axially in the outside lever (16) and pivots with the outside lever (16). The keyed lock cylinder (250) has an opening that pivotably engages an actuator (260). The actuator (260) extends into a retractor assembly (33) of the lockset (10) and is configured to perform an unlocking or locking function when actuated.
Modular latch system
A modular latch system has an activation module comprising an activation rod, a latch module comprising a biased latch, and a control cable connecting the activation module to the latch module so that rotation of the activation rod can retract the latch.
Lock devices, systems and methods
Disclosed are various embodiments of lock devices, systems, and methods. A lock of the application can include an internal mechanism to permit backdriven operation and lost motion operation. In one form the lock can be made from an assembly of parts that have locating features that require one way installation/assembly. The lock can include an internal power source capable of driving electronics used to determine handedness of a door.
Adjustable backset latch
An adjustable latch configured to accommodate different backset lengths. The adjustable latch includes inner and outer housings, at least a portion of the inner housing being structured for axial and rotational displacement within the outer housing as an engagement projection of the inner housing is displaced about an adjustment slot of the outer housing. The apparatus may include a bolt assembly having a bolt rod and a latch bar, the bolt rod having projections that are structured to be adjacent to the latch bar when the bolt rod is at a first rotational position and at first or second axial positions. When the bolt rod is at a second rotational position, the axial positions of the bolt rod and the inner housing relative to at least the latch bar and outer housing, respectively, may be adjusted to adjust the backset setting of the latch.
CYLINDRICAL LATCH EXIT DEVICE
A push bar door exit device includes a latch actuation assembly configured to be installed in a door and including a linearly-movable latch retractor; a door latch operatively coupled to the latch retractor so as to be moved from a latched position to an unlatched position by the linear movement of the latch retractor; and a push bar mechanism configured for being mounted on the door and including a linearly-movable push bar operatively coupled to the latch actuation assembly so as to translate a linear motion of the push bar into the linear movement of the latch retractor.
Easily-assembled modular door lock
The modular door lock includes a tubular shell with a lock tongue at an open end and a turning wheel in the shell. The outer edge of the turning wheel extends out to a flange. A support frame lies between the turning wheel and the lock tongue and a drive is set in the frame. The lock tongue is permanently connected with a connection strap, which is drive-jointed with the turning wheel flange end via the drive. The door lock has a first state causing the lock tongue to draw back into the shell opening end through the drive and the connection strap, as well as a second state that causes the lock tongue to automatically reach outwards, the turning wheel to automatically rotate to the initial position, and the connection strap and drive mechanism to automatically return to their initial positions under the movement of the tongue.
DOOR LATCH INSTALLATION
A door latch system (1) comprises a latch (10) and rose bases (60A,B) which clamp together against a door panel through a cross-drilling in the door panel by screws 80 engaging in bosses (94) above and below the latch body (12). The latch body is supported in the cross drilling by an adaptor (40) which in turn supports sleeve extensions (90) of the rose bases to prevent the rose bases from turning on operation of the handle knob/levers attached to the rose bases. The sleeve extensions are open, (that is, C-shaped in section) so that the diameter of the parts of the system within the cross drilling can be minimised, whereby the diameter of the rose bases can likewise be kept within desirable limits of size.
Transmission device of electronic lock
A transmission device of an electronic lock, disposed in a lock body, each of both sides of the lock body is provided with a rose assembly, connected respectively to a handle, to drive a driving seat to bring a latch bolt of a latch unit into action. The transmission device is controlled electronically, comprising: a positioning element, a motor, an elastic element, a rod, a clutch element, and a spring. The clutch element is slideable in the spindle, to move between a first position where the clutch element engages with the spindle and a second position where the clutch element disengages from the spindle, such that when the clutch element engages with the spindle, the spindle drives the driving seat, to retract the latch bolt of the latch unit.
A MECHANISM FOR TRANSMITTING A TORQUE APPLIED TO A HANDLE AND A METHOD FOR OPERATING A MECHANISM FOR TRANSMITTING A TORQUE APPLIED TO A HANDLE
Disclosed herein is a mechanism (10) for transmitting a torque applied to a handle (12). The mechanism (10) comprises a torque transmitter (18). The torque transmitter (18) is for transmitting the torque applied to the handle (12) coupled thereto. The mechanism (10) comprises a torque transmitter stop (40) within the housing (14). The torque transmitter (18) and the torque transmitter stop (40) are cooperatively arranged for the torque transmitter stop (40) and the torque transmitter (18) to engage to arrest a torque transmitter rotation. The torque transmitter (18) and the torque transmitter stop (40) are cooperatively arranged for the torque transmitter stop (40) and the torque transmitter (18) to disengage when the torque so applied exceeds a predetermined torque value. Also disclosed herein is a method for operating the mechanism (10) for transmitting a torque applied to the handle (12).
