Washpipe seal assembly
A high pressure seal assembly for connection to an upper and lower connector pipe. The seal assembly includes a lower seal assembly surrounding a lower end of a rotating pipe, e.g., a washpipe. The lower seal assembly includes a first and second seal ring that define an annular space. The seal rings have a simple cross-section and are identical, thereby facilitating ease of manufacture and assembly. High pressure seals are received within annular spaces of the respective seal rings. The high pressure seals define inner surfaces that have a layer of self-lubricating polymer for engaging the rotating pipe. The high pressure seals define a pressure facing cavity that receives a high pressure ring that mitigates the spreading of the body of the high pressure seals due to pressure and that prevents the seal from extruding through an adjacent gap. An excluder seal prevents debris from entering the seal assembly.
CONTAINMENT SYSTEMS FOR SEALING A PASS-THROUGH IN A WELL, AND METHODS THEREFORE
A system formed to provide sealed passage therethrough for cables, lines, tubes or the like through the wellhead and down-hole applications. The invention provides a unitary or split/wrap around hanger having a main seal formed to receive and provide sealed pass-through of power and control cables, lines, conduits, or other threaded components which have various profiles for various configurations and applications, allowing pass through thereof. The present invention provides hinged side doors formed to engage and support various configuration (via interchangeable inserts) various size cable, line, conduit, etc. in the hanger for engaging components threaded therethrough. Also taught is a bowl cap, tubing adapter or other surface component with adapters to allow sealed-pass through of various lines, cable, wires, including a compression seal to cover and seal off the tubing head of the present system, while providing enhanced, sealed pass-through. Still another embodiment of the invention provides a swivel flange to ease the installation of the pass-through system of the present invention by facilitate rotational alignment of the bolt holes of the tubing head with the bottom ring of the adapter, without compromising the wire alignment in the port of the adapter.
Configurable Coupling Assembly
A configurable coupling assembly includes a body having a central bore and multiple receptacles. The central bore is configured to facilitate flow of fluid through the body, the receptacles are positioned radially outward from the central bore, the receptacles are substantially the same as one another, the receptacles are configured to receive respective couplers, and the respective couplers include multiple different types of couplers.
Tubing hanger assembly with adjustable load nut
A tubing hanger assembly includes a tubing hanger body, a downward facing load shoulder axially displaceable relative to the body, an annular load member rotatably supported on the body, and a torque member operatively engaged between the load member. The load shoulder and load member are arranged such that rotation of the load member relative to the body results in axial displacement of the load shoulder relative to the body. In use, the torque member rotates the load member to thereby displace the load shoulder axially relative to the body.
Rotatable wellhead and centralizer
Disclosed is a wellhead that includes a casing head, a tubing hanger and a rotation assembly connected to the tubing hanger. The tubing hanger is rotatable relative to the casing head and this rotation is effected by the rotation assembly. Also disclosed is a centraliser for use with tubing in a well. The centraliser has a first sleeve, a second sleeve, and a body that has a first band and a second band connected by a number of resiliently deformable members. The bands extend about the sleeves, with the bands being able to move relative to the respective sleeves. This can permit the centraliser to be fitted to tubing without requiring tight tolerances of tubing size, for example, and may reduce the friction between the body and the tubing to allow the tubing to be rotated within the casing during use.
TUBING ROTATOR AND SAFETY ROD CLAMP ASSEMBLY
Tubing string rotators, safety rod clamps, combination tubing string rotators and safety rod claims, and rotating split tubing hangers are provided. The tubing string rotator can rotate a tubing string suspended in a hydrocarbon well from a rotatable support mandrel. The support mandrel can be positioned at the well head and can be supported against downward axial movement. The tubing string rotator can comprise a motor for producing a rotational force, a drive assembly for applying the rotational force to drive the rotation of the support mandrel, and a controller operatively connected to the motor for intermittently activating the motor, causing rotation of the support mandrel, for selected intervals of time, followed by selected intervals of time of motor inactivation, in which no rotation of the support mandrel occurs. Intermittently or non-continuously rotation of the tubing string can result in more even wear and/or erosion of the tubing string.
INNER STRING CEMENTING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A cementing system includes an inner string configured to be received into a casing string in a wellbore. The cementing system also includes a stinger coupled to the inner string and configured to be received into a float shoe connected to the casing string. The cementing system also includes a first retractable joint coupled to the inner string. The retractable joint is configured to reduce in axial length so as to permit at least part of stinger to be withdrawn from engagement with the float shoe while a weight of the inner string is supported by a hanger running tool and casing hanger connected to the casing. The inner string, the stinger, and the retractable joint form at least a part of a flowpath that extends through an end of the casing string at the float shoe.
Outer casing string and method of installing same
An outer casing string, including a surface casing head, and associated installation method. In some embodiments, the surface casing head includes an outer tubular member insertable through a diverter of an installed conductor system, an inner tubular member at least partially disposed within and moveable relative to the outer tubular member, and a sleeve ring rotatably coupled to the inner tubular. The outer tubular member has an annular recess. The sleeve ring includes a snap ring that is displaceable between an extended position and a retracted position. In the extended position, at least a portion of the snap ring is received within the annular recess, and the outer tubular member is axially immovable relative to the inner tubular member. In the retracted position, no portion of the snap ring is received within the annular recess, and the outer tubular member is axially moveable relative to the inner tubular member.
Well System and Method of Use
A device and method for collecting sample fluids from an underground source which includes sample wells terminating in a corrugated conduit and sieve. The sampling regions for each sample well is separated by a grout or expanding seal barrier. Negative pressure is optionally applied to extract fluids from the underground matrix for sampling. The device can also be used for remediating an environmental contaminant from soil or aquifers. Upon identification of at least one environmental contaminant, a remediation composition is injected into the soil or aquifer using the sampling wells of the device. The remediation fluids can be directed to specific locations by selectively utilizing one or more sampling wells to inject the remediation fluid.
Apparatus, systems, and methods for a rotatable hanger assembly
A tubing hanger for supporting a tubing string from a wellhead includes a unified mandrel having an upper mandrel coupled to an axially aligned lower mandrel by multiple separate connections. The upper mandrel includes an external shoulder, and a lower mandrel includes a threaded segment configured to couple to the tubing string. The first connection is configured to restrain axial movement between the upper and lower mandrel and to transfer toque between the upper mandrel and the lower mandrel in at least a first rotational direction. The second connection is configured to transfer toque between them in at least a second rotational direction opposite the first rotational direction, to prevent the first connection from loosening.
