An example method of forming a well includes identifying a lost circulation zone in a wellbore, where the lost circulation zone includes a fracture in a formation adjacent to the wellbore; arranging an inflatable in a vicinity of the lost circulation zone; forcing slurry into the inflatable to cause at least part of the inflatable containing the slurry to expand into the fracture; allowing the slurry to set for a period of time to produce a solid; and drilling through the solid in the inflatable in the wellbore, leaving the solid in the fracture.

Pipe provided with a crimped metal element, and corresponding process

A pipe to be placed within a well for producing a fluid of interest includes an outer face onto which is crimped a tubular metal element. The inner face of the tubular element exhibits an annular groove in which a metal anchoring ring or a pair of juxtaposed anchoring rings is engaged. Each anchoring ring consists of a ring split transversely at least partially, is provided on its inner face with projecting anchoring members, and exhibits, in cross-section, a base equipped with the projecting members and at least one flank forming an acute angle with the base. The annular groove exhibits a profile that is substantially complementary to that of the ring(s). The depth of the groove is less than the thickness of the ring or of the rings. The projecting members are at least partially embedded into the pipe after crimping of the metal element onto the pipe.

A downhole packer element includes an inner and outer cable wrapped layer positioned about an inflatable bladder. The inner and outer cable wrapped layers are formed from helically wrapped, parallel cables. The inner cable wrapped layer may be wrapped about a layer of slats. The outer cable wrapped layer may be surrounded by an outer cover. An end sub may serve to couple the downhole packer element to a mandrel.

Furthermore, the present invention relates to an annular barrier system.

DOWNHOLE COUPLING MECHANISM

A downhole coupling mechanism for use in downhole tools that find application in wells exploited by a hydraulic refracturing process. The downhole coupling mechanism connects first and second tubular sections via a tensile load arrangement of wires located in complimentary grooves, a torque arrangement of interlocking lugs and notches on opposite ends, and a seal arrangement. The downhole coupling mechanism provides a thin walled coupling where a screw-threaded connection could not achieve the required tensile load, torque and sealing properties needed. Embodiments of a thin walled anchor and packer including the downhole coupling mechanism are described.

Mechanical flow assembly

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to an expandable packer assembly that includes a mechanical flow assembly. In some embodiments, the mechanical flow assembly includes a fluid arm that directs a flow of fluid into an expandable element to inflate the expandable element, and a support arm that provides support to the fluid arm during inflation of the expandable element. In some embodiments, the mechanical flow assembly is rotatably coupled to a piston and a packer conduit of the expandable element via linkages.
