Levers (30) are connected to a base end portion (13) of a male luer via a base (15). Each lever includes a locking portion (31) and an operating portion (35). A locking claw (32) protrudes from each locking portion toward the male luer. A lock ring (8) is provided opposing inner surfaces of the operating portions. The lock ring is movable between a first position at which the lock ring is located close to the base and a second position at which the lock ring is located away from the base. When the lock ring is at the first position, the levers are pivotable such that the locking claws move away from the male luer. When the lock ring is at the second position, the lock ring restricts the levers from pivoting such that the locking claws move away from the male luer.

DISINFECTING LUER CAP AND METHOD OF USE

Medical devices including a cap for a medical connector are disclosed. In some embodiments, the cap comprises a disinfectant, such as an antiseptic fluid and an insert configured to seal or partially seal the medical connector as it is engaged with the cap. In some embodiments the cap insert has a segment which is deformable under axially applied pressure as an end-user attaches the cap to the medical connector. In some embodiments this insert is configured to improve the exposure of antiseptic to the outer surface of the medical connector while minimizing exposure of the antiseptic inside the medical connector open lumen.

A tube and connector assembly for warming an intravenous fluid comprises a tube, a temperature sensor, and a connector. The tube includes a single hollow generally cylindrical side wall with an inner surface along which the intravenous fluid flows. The tube further includes first and second electrically conductive wires, each within the side wall and electrically connected to one another to carry electrical current to warm the intravenous fluid. The temperature sensor is configured to measure a temperature of the fluid flowing through the tube. The connector includes first, second, and third side walls. The first side wall receives the tube. The second side wall is positioned opposite the first side wall and is configured to receive line tubing. The third side wall is spaced apart from the second side wall and includes threads on an inner surface thereof configured to receive a line connector for the intravenous line.

IV SPIKE FOR USE WITH NON-ISO COMPLIANT IV CONTAINER
20200282134 · 2020-09-10 ·

An intravenous (IV) spike for administering a medicinal fluid from a container includes an elongate body having an upper portion and a lower portion, and a plurality of screw threads disposed along and protruding radially outward from an outer surface of the lower portion of the elongate body. The elongate body is configured to be coupled to a drip chamber. The outer surface is configured to engage an internal surface of an outlet port of the container in a coupled configuration. In the coupled configuration edges of the screw threads grip and engage the internal surface of the outlet port of the container to create a seal between the lower portion of the elongate body and the outlet port of the container and to retain the body in the outlet port.

The present disclosure is directed to a flexible cap for a medical fitting, such as a luer-lock fitting. The flexible cap includes a cap component defining a top surface, a cylindrical wall extending opposite from the top surface of the cap component, and an inner sealing surface. The cylindrical wall defines a hollow interior configured to receive an internal tapered sealing wall of a male connector of the medical fitting so as to form a seal with an outer surface of the tapered sealing wall. Further, the inner sealing surface of the flexible cap is configured within the hollow interior. Thus, when the tapered sealing wall of the male connector of the medical fitting is received within the hollow interior of the cylindrical wall, the inner sealing surface of the flexible cap seals the fluid passageway of the tapered sealing wall.
