Muffler filter
A muffler filter includes a housing including an aperture, a cartridge holder, at least one activated filter, an attachable lock associated with the activated filter, and a plurality of clamps. The muffler filter is configured to be securely affixed to a muffler of a vehicle allowing the activated filter to sieve noxious fumes from emissions from the muffler.
PLATINUM AND ZINC-CONTAINING ZEOLITE
The present invention relates to a zeolite comprising zinc and platinum, and to a catalyst containing said zeolites.
Exhaust gas treatment system
Described are exhaust gas treatment systems for treatment of a gasoline engine exhaust gas stream. The exhaust gas treatment systems comprise an ammonia generating catalyst and an ammonia selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst downstream of the ammonia generating catalyst. The ammonia generating catalyst comprises a NO.sub.x storage component, a refractory metal oxide support, a platinum component, and a palladium component. The ammonia generating catalyst is substantially free of ceria. The platinum and palladium components are present in a platinum to palladium ratio of greater than about 1 to 1.
PROCESS FOR CAPTURING CO2 FROM A MOBILE SOURCE USING EXHAUST HEAT
An exhaust gas carbon dioxide capture and recovery system that may be mounted on a mobile vehicle or vessel. The system may include an exhaust absorber system, a solvent regenerator, a solvent loop, a carbon dioxide compressor, and a carbon dioxide storage tank, among other components. The system may be configured and integrated such that energy in the exhaust may be used to power and drive the carbon dioxide capture while having minimal parasitic effect on the engine.
Catalytic articles
Provided herein is a catalytic article including a catalytic coating disposed on a substrate, wherein the catalytic coating comprises a bottom coating on the substrate and a top coating layer on the bottom coating layer, one such coating layer containing a platinum group metal on a refractory metal oxide support and the other such coating layer containing a ceria-containing molecular sieve. Such catalytic articles are effective toward treating exhaust gas streams of internal combustion engines and exhibit outstanding resistance to sulfur.
Crossflow PNA-SCR aftertreatment device
An exhaust aftertreatment system includes a cross-flow selective catalytic reduction catalyst. The cross-flow selective catalytic reduction catalyst includes a housing and a substrate assembly. The substrate assembly includes a plurality of first substrate layers defining a plurality of first flow channels and a plurality of second substrate layers defining a plurality of second flow channels. The exhaust aftertreatment system includes a passive NO.sub.x adsorber. The passive NO.sub.x adsorber includes a housing. The housing includes an inlet in exhaust gas receiving communication with the plurality of first flow channels of the cross-flow selective catalytic reduction catalyst. The housing includes an outlet in exhaust gas providing communication with the plurality of second flow channels of the cross-flow selective catalytic reduction catalyst. The passive NO.sub.x adsorber includes a substrate positioned in the housing. The substrate includes a passive NO.sub.x adsorber washcoat.
Coolant control valve
A fluid actuated normally closed coolant control valve. The valve comprises a valve housing, an inlet port, the inlet port configured for fluid communication with either a coolant source or a heat exchanger of a DEF tank; an outlet port configured for fluid communication with the other of the heat exchanger of a DEF tank or the coolant source; a valve chamber, a valve and an actuator configured to actuate the valve. The actuator is a fluid actuated piston. The valve is biased to a closed condition in which the flow of coolant from the inlet port to the outlet port is prevented by the valve. The valve is actuatable to an open condition in which the flow of coolant from the inlet port to the outlet port is permitted, and the valve is withdrawn from the valve chamber, wherein the flow factor for the valve is greater than 1.5.
Microwave synthesis of iron oxide catalysts for cold start NO.SUB.x .removal
Methods of making an iron based catalyst using microwave hydrothermal synthesis are provided. The methods include dissolving iron(III) nitrate, Fe(NO.sub.3).sub.3, in an organic solvent to form a solution. Once dissolved, the methods include a step of neutralizing the solution with an alkaline mineralizing agent to obtain a precipitate. The solution with the precipitate is then subjected to microwave radiation to cause a temperature gradient and a hydrothermal crystallization process to form a synthesized product. The synthesized product is subsequently separated from the mineralizing agent. The method includes washing and drying the synthesized product to obtain particles of sodium iron oxide (NaFeO.sub.2) catalyst that can be used as a composition for a passive NO.sub.x adsorber. A two-stage NO.sub.x abatement device for removal of NO.sub.x from an exhaust gas stream during a cold start operation of an internal combustion engine is also provided.
Vehicle
A vehicle 100 comprises a fuel tank for storing fuel, a fueling port for supplying the fuel tank with fuel, a CO.sub.2 recovery device configured to recover CO.sub.2, a CO.sub.2 collection port for collecting CO.sub.2 from the CO.sub.2 recovery device, and a single openable lid configured to cover both the fueling port and the CO.sub.2 collection port.
Tailpipe apparatus to capture greenhouse gas emissions
An apparatus for attachment to a tailpipe of a vehicle is disclosed herein. The apparatus includes a filter body, a removable filter medium, a locking collar and a removable front cover. The filter medium preferably comprises of any materials that are deemed by the scientific community as sorbents that are capable of absorbing exhaust gases such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, particulate matter, or other hydrocarbons.
