Methods and systems for a series gap igniter with a passive prechamber
Methods and systems are provided for operating an engine with a series gap igniter. In one example, a system may include a series gap igniter coupled to a cylinder head of a cylinder, the series gap igniter including a first spark gap in an internal volume of the series gap igniter and a second spark gap of the series gap igniter external to the internal volume of the series gap igniter and within a clearance volume of the cylinder. In this way, a cylinder with a series gap igniter may be operated to efficiently and reliably initiate combustion over a range of engine operating conditions.
Battery pack for powering and controlling outdoor power equipment
A battery pack includes a housing, rechargeable lithium-ion battery cells enclosed in the housing, terminals, a processing circuit, and a communications interface. The processing circuit is configured to control a supply of electrical power from the rechargeable lithium-ion battery cells to a positive terminal and a negative terminal in response to receiving signals from data terminals. The signals from the data terminals include operational information that includes at least a condition of an electric motor on power equipment coupled with the data terminals. The communications interface is configured to communicate over a wireless communication protocol to receive an identification of a type of power equipment coupled with the plurality of terminals. The processing circuit is configured to adjust one or more functions of the battery pack based upon identification data received from the communications interface, which includes the type of power equipment that is coupled with the plurality of terminals.
Ignition coil for internal combustion engine and manufacturing method thereof
A first filler resin is disposed to cover at least an outer peripheral side of a secondary spool and a secondary coil. The second filler resin is filled inside a case and seals a cover sealant which includes a primary coil, secondary spool, a secondary coil, a center core, an outer core and the first filler resin. The connector protrudes to an outside of the case. The case has a fixing portion. The second filler resin has a lower elasticity than the first filler resin. The ignition coil is manufactured by filling the first resin inside the case, and filling the second resin after the first resin is cured.
INTERNAL-COMBUSTION-ENGINE CONTROLLER
The objective is to provide an internal-combustion-engine controller that can diagnose a smolder state in a subsidiary combustion chamber of a subsidiary-chamber-type internal combustion engine at low cost and in real time and that can perform control so as to securely produce a spark discharge. The controller controls an internal combustion engine in which a fuel-air mixture in the main combustion chamber is ignited with combustion gas to be injected through an orifice provided in a subsidiary combustion chamber; the controller includes an ignition plug and a detection probe arranged in the subsidiary combustion chamber, an ignition coil, a fuel injector, a smolder detector, and a smolder diagnosis device, and controls at least one of the ignition coil and the fuel injector in accordance with a diagnostic result in the smolder diagnosis device.
