DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING A FLOWABLE INGESTIBLE MEDICAMENT INTO THE GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT OF A USER
A device and a method for delivering a flowable ingestible medicament into the gastrointestinal tract of a user. The device includes a vibrating ingestible capsule attached to a medicament delivery compartment. The medicament delivery compartment includes a housing including a portal, a medicament reservoir, a reservoir biasing mechanism applying pressure to the reservoir, a resilient conduit extending from the reservoir to the portal, and a valve including a weight and a spring adapted, when closed, to bias the weight against the conduit so as to block flow therethrough, and, when open, to remove the weight from the conduit to allow fluid to flow through the conduit. When the vibrating agitator is in the vibration mode of operation, vibrations exerted thereby are applied to the valve biasing mechanism and periodically transition the valve between the closed operative orientation and the open operative orientation.
TETHERED ULTRASOUND DEVICES AND USES THEREOF
The invention provides devices and methods for use with an endoscope to deliver an agent to an internal tissue of a subject. The devices and methods use transient acoustic cavitation to transfer an agent directly from a fluid to the tissue.
INGESTIBLE APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COLLECTING SAMPLES IN THE GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT AND/OR DELIVERING HEALTH-RELATED SUBSTANCE THERETO
An ingestible apparatus for collecting samples from a target area of a gastrointestinal tract of a human or mammal and/or for delivering a health-related substance thereto. The ingestible apparatus has a housing comprising at least one first port and at least a volume-changeable first compartment communicable with the at least one first port, an actuation assembly for changing the volume of the first compartment for collecting the samples and/or discharging the health-related substance through the at least one first port, a delay structure for delaying the actuation assembly to change the volume of the first compartment until the ingestible apparatus is at or about the target area, and a circuit structure for detecting arrival of the ingestible apparatus at the target area and for detecting an end of the sample collecting and/or the health-related-substance discharging.
INGESTIBLE DEVICE FOR DELIVERY OF THERAPEUTIC AGENT TO THE GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT
An ingestible device, includes a storage reservoir configured to store a dispensable substance and a pressurized chamber configured so that, when a restraining force is removed from the pressurized chamber, the dispensable substance exits the ingestible device via openings in the ingestible device.
APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR IMPROVING POST-OPERATIVE RECOVERY FROM SURGERY
This disclosure relates to apparatuses and methods for preventing the onset and progression of POI. In one example, a fan-like polyurethane heat-sealed bilayer that surrounds a plurality of wedge-shaped foam strips that join at a collecting foam portion, is subjected to negative pressure provided through silicone tubing which is sealed to the perforated collecting foam portion. Such negative pressure applied for approximately 48 to 72 hours after closure of the abdomen, helps prevent POI which in turn enhances patient recovery, and reduces the length of their hospital stay.
NOVEL IRRIGATION AND ASPIRATION SYSTEM
A novel irrigation and aspiration system is disclosed. A pump (6) is disposed on an irrigation tube (2) for delivering irrigation fluid. The irrigation tube (2) is connected in series with a check valve (3) and then connected with a first port of a tee joint (4); a second port of the tee joint (4) is connected with a suction tube of a negative pressure device through an aspiration tube (5); an electronic choke device (7) is installed on the aspiration tube (5); a third port of the tee joint is connected with an irrigation and aspiration common tube (8) also connected with a terminal execution device. The electronic choke device (7) and the pump (6) are controlled by a host computer. The electronic choke device (7) is turned off when the pump (6) works; and the pump (6) is stopped when the electronic choke device (7) is turned on.
MULTI-TUBE ADAPTER
The invention discloses a multi-tube body adapter which is connected to a plurality of outer tubes for application to a digestive system and a respiratory system of a human body. The multi-tube body adapter includes a housing to form an accommodating space of the multi-chamber. The plurality of chambers is not in communication with each other. One end of the plurality of chambers respectively provides a connection port and the other end of the plurality of chambers is commonly connected to an extension having a plurality of openings. By connecting with the chamber, the connection port and the opening, a supply path for separately providing the supply path of the respiratory system and the digestive system can be formed.
Gastrointestinal tract positioning switch, manufacture method thereof and site-specific delivery capsule
The present invention provides a gastrointestinal tract positioning switch, a method of manufacturing the gastrointestinal tract positioning switch and a site-specific delivery capsule. The gastrointestinal tract positioning switch includes a base, a first electrode, a second electrode, a conductive device and a positioning film. The first electrode and the second electrode are spaced apart from each other and fixed on the base. The first electrode and the second electrode electrically connected to the conductive device respectively, and covered by the positioning film. Both the first electrode and the second electrode are an inert electrode, and can be exposed after dissolution or/and degradation of the positioning film in the stomach or intestine.
RESECTOR BALLOON WITH SHOCK ABSORBER PADDING AND RIGID OR FLEXIBLE CATHETER
A catheter (1) resector balloon (8) used in the treatment of any type of endoluminal-endobronchial tumoral or non-tumoral narrowing and occlusions and endovascular obstructions seen in the hollow tubular organs such as the trachea, esophagus, urinary tract, biliary tract, etc. and vessels, characterized in that, it comprises the following; at least one flexible pad section with pressure and proximity sensor and/or pad section without pressure and proximity sensor which provides soft stopping at the final wall section where the catheter (1) resector balloon (8) is applied in a soft, flexible and shock absorber manner at the tip (2) portion, prevents punctures, tears, bursts or vascular damages occurred in the tissues and vessels formed as a region, undesired complications, provides stopping without giving any damage to its location.
