In certain exemplary devices, the implantable device comprises (a) an ultrasonic transducer configured to emit an ultrasonic backscatter encoding information relating to an impedance characteristic of a tissue based on a modulated current flowing through the ultrasonic transducer; (b) an integrated circuit comprising (i) a variable frequency power supply electrically connected to a first electrode and a second electrode; (ii) a signal detector configured to detect an impedance, voltage, or current in a circuit comprising the variable frequency power supply, the first electrode, the second electrode, and the tissue; and (iii) a modulation circuit configured to modulate the current flowing through the ultrasonic transducer based on the detected impedance, voltage, or current; and the first electrode and the second electrode configured to be implanted into the tissue in electrical connection with each other through the tissue. Further described are systems including one or more implantable devices and an interrogator for operating the implantable device, methods of measuring impedance characteristic of a tissue in a subject, and methods of monitoring or characterizing a tissue in a subject.
ULTRASONIC WAVE-DRIVEN TRIBOELECTRIC GENERATOR WITH SELF-GAP FORMED USING PLASMA ETCHING
The present invention relates to an ultrasonic wave-driven triboelectric generator in which a self-gap is formed using plasma etching. The present invention relates to an ultrasonic wave-driven triboelectric generator having a polymer film as one triboelectric layer having a self-gap defined therein using plasma etching such that a surface area thereof is increased to achieve high power and miniaturization of the generator.
Systems and methods for performing transcranial ultrasound therapeutic and imaging procedures
Systems and methods are provided for performing transcranial diagnostic procedures using a transcranial ultrasound transducer array. The array elements are positioned and oriented such that far field regions respectively associated therewith spatially overlap within the brain of a patient. The array elements may be oriented approximately normal to the skull, permitting efficient coupling of ultrasound energy into the brain. The array elements are controlled to generate ultrasound pulses, where the timing of the pulses is controlled, based on registration between the array elements and volumetric image data, such that ultrasound energy is focused at a target within spatially overlapping far fields of the array elements. The transcranial ultrasound transducer array elements may be positioned and oriented relative to the skull such that their respective ultrasound beams are focused within the skull and diverging with the brain.
Intelligent glasses and glasses box
The present disclosure relates to a pair of intelligent glasses and a glasses box. The intelligent glasses can include a frame assembly having an inner frame portion and an outer frame portion that is arranged around the inner frame portion, a detection component configured to detect physiological characteristics of a wearer, a control component connected with the detection component and configured to acquire a control signal generated according to the physiological characteristics and a treatment component, connected with the control component and configured to output treatment signals according to the control signal. One or more accommodating spaces are formed between the inner frame portion and the outer frame portion. The treatment signals include at least one of a phototherapy signal, a sonic wave signal, a sound wave signal, magnetic waves, or electromagnetic waves. The detection component, the control component and the treatment component are located in the accommodating spaces.
Sonodynamic therapy using sonodynamically activated coordination complexes of transition metals as sensitizing agents
A method for destroying cells and/or microorganisms in an organism includes the following steps: (a) administering to the organism a composition including a sonosensitizing compound containing at least one transition metal with three bidentate ligands; and (b) exposing the sonosensitizing compound in the organism to ultrasound, wherein the ultrasound is effective to activate the sonosensitizing compound to destroy at least one of the cells and the microorganisms in the organism. The ultrasound is preferably used in conjunction with electromagnetic therapies comprising photodynamic therapy, low-level laser therapy, and radiation therapy. The ultrasound is preferably administered at a duty cycle in the range from 5% to 95% at a power density of 10 W/cm.sup.2 and a frequency in the range from 10 Hz to 10 MHz.
Systems and methods for using low intensity ultrasonic transducer on the brain
Methods, devices, and systems are disclosed for affixing and orienting an ultrasound transducer to a patient. A mount has a base, with a top surface, a bottom surface, an outer surface, and a plurality of internal surfaces. Some of the internal surfaces define a number of through holes that pass through the top surface and the bottom surface at the periphery or outer edge of the base. A number of supports are also arranged on the outer surface of the housing to affix the mount to the patient, to affix the transducer to the mount, or both. At least one of the plurality of internal surfaces defines a channel between the top and bottom surfaces proximal to a center of the mount, which receives a transducer and directs the transducer head toward the patient.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DETERMINING BODY LUMEN SIZE
A tissue treatment system and method of using the tissue treatment system determines a size of a body lumen, or a neuromodulation parameter corresponding to the size of the body lumen. The tissue treatment system fills a balloon with a fluid when the balloon is within a body lumen. A fluid parameter of the fluid is detected over a period of time. A parameter curve of the fluid parameter is determined. The parameter curve includes the fluid parameter versus an independent variable over the period of time. The parameter curve includes inflections that correspond to changes in the fluid parameter. Based on the inflections, the system can determine the body lumen size or the neuromodulation parameter. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
