METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR INCREASING CRUSHING STRENGTH OF A TIMBER PANEL
20220088821 · 2022-03-24 ·

A system and method for increasing a crush strength of a panel. The system having a panel being made from side-grain wood, a bore that extends partly or completely through the panel, and a plug made from end-grain wood. Because end-grain wood has a significantly higher crush strength per square inch than side-grain wood, a topical crush strength of the panel can be increased through the use of the plug. The plug can further be provided with a hollow portion to be used with a thread stepped dowel comprising of a base section, at least one middle section, and a tip section, with each section being progressively smaller in circumference than the last. The at least one middle section of the threaded stepped dowel further comprises thread spiraling around the outer surface of the at least one middle section.

ENCAPSULATED ADHESIVE
20220099127 · 2022-03-31 ·

An encapsulated adhesive for easy handling and a method of making the encapsulated adhesive are presented. The encapsulated adhesive includes an adhesive material enclosed by a non-adhesive encapsulant that substantially surrounds the adhesive material. The encapsulant is strong enough to withstand handling and storage, but breaks in response to pressure, exposing the adhesive material. A method of bonding two pieces by forming a first cavity in a first piece, inserting the encapsulated adhesive into the first cavity, and inserting a member into the first cavity to breach the encapsulant is also presented.

Injection mortar

Injection mortar for anchoring a fastening element containing a chemical composition that can cure in a curing process, and means for initiating the curing process characterized in that the chemical composition cures when irradiated with electromagnetic radiation, the means for initiating the curing process is formed by a radiation source for electromagnetic radiation, and the radiation source is placed within the anchoring zone.

IMPROVED CONNECTOR

The invention relates to an anchor rod (10) for a chemical anchor system for use in a bore hole filled with mortar mass, which anchor rod has an anchoring region (12), which comprises the front end (16) of the anchor rod (10), and a connecting region (14), which has a thread (24) and, at the front end of the connecting region, a transition region (28), wherein the thread (24) is provided at least partially in the transition region (28) and is sealed with a coating (30) in the transition region (28).

Method for Temporarily Releasing Screw Anchorage

A method for temporarily releasing a screw anchorage includes unscrewing and removing a primary screw having a thread that is tappingly engaged in a mating thread in an ungrouted hole in a mineral substrate from the ungrouted hole. Subsequently to the unscrewing and removing, a retrofitting screw is screwed into the hole to form an annular gap between the retrofitting screw and the mineral substrate. A hardenable grout is placed in the annular gap and the hardenable grout is hardened in the annular gap.

Method for coating a cold-worked multi-cone anchoring element

A cold-worked multi-cone anchoring element for chemical fastening technology is coated. The anchoring element detaches better from an injection mortar and exhibits both improved sliding properties and increased corrosion protection.

Insert system, insert and panel assembly

The invention is directed to an insert system comprising an insert with a base and an outer skirt extending from the base, thereby forming a chamber. The outer skirt is provided with a first inner skirt surface and a first outer skirt surface. The insert system further comprises a panel with a core structure and a first cover sheet that at least partially covers the core structure. The first cover sheet defines a first outer panel surface and has an opening. At least one piston is arranged in the opening and beneath the first outer panel surface. According to the invention the piston during mounting of the insert sweeps into the chamber to discharge an adhesive agent from the chamber into the core structure via at least one pathway.

FASTENING PART STRUCTURE FOR FRP MEMBER, METAL COLLAR, AND METHOD OF ATTACHING METAL COLLAR
20210164508 · 2021-06-03 · ·

A metal collar attached in a through-hole of an FRP member includes first and second collar members. The first collar member includes outer and inner circumferential surfaces. The outer circumferential surface is in contact with a hole inner circumferential surface of the through-hole. A slit is formed in a part in a circumferential direction of the first collar member. The second collar member applies a pressing force radially outward to at least a part of the inner circumferential surface of the first collar member or a pressing force to inner surfaces of the slit in a direction in which the inner surfaces separate from each other in a circumferential direction. The second collar member is held in the first collar member by reaction of the pressing force, deforms the first collar member for diameter expansion with the pressing force, and presses the outer circumferential surface against the hole inner circumferential surface.
