A bearing ring having a main part ring provided with at least one groove formed a surface of the main part ring. The bearing ring further provides at least one fiber sensor mounted inside the groove. The bearing ring also include at least one counterpart ring mounted into the groove of the main part ring and coming into contact with the fiber sensor to maintain the fiber sensor against a groove bottom, the counterpart ring being secured to the main part ring.

In some embodiments, one or more sensors (e.g., temperature sensors, load sensors, etc.) are supported by the shaft of a conveyor idler. The pin comprises a pin cylindrical portion, a plate-engagement portion, and a stop surface. The sleeve comprises a sleeve cylindrical outer surface and a sleeve interior channel that has an interior-channel central axis, which is parallel to and offset from a sleeve-cylindrical-outer-surface central axis. The pin cylindrical portion is configured to be received by the sleeve interior channel with a slip fit. The tooling further comprises a squaring plate that comprises a squaring-plate abutment surface, configured to contact the stop surface, and a squaring-plate opening configured to receive the plate-engagement portion of the pin with a slip fit.

In accordance with one aspect of the present disclosure, a wheel end apparatus for a vehicle is provided that includes a wheel hub assembly configured to be mounted to a spindle and a wheel hub of the wheel hub assembly. The wheel end apparatus includes a coil of wire and at least one magnet of the wheel hub assembly configured to move relative to one another with rotation of the wheel hub around the spindle. The wheel end apparatus includes a wheel end device operably coupled to the coil of wire to receive electrical power generated by relative movement of the coil of wire and the at least one magnet. Further, the wheel end apparatus includes communication circuitry operably coupled to the wheel end device and configured to wirelessly communicate wheel end device information with a wheel end monitoring device.
