FRICTION PLATE AND FRICTION ENGAGEMENT DEVICE PROVIDED WITH THE SAME

A friction plate (1.sub.1) includes a plate (1A) with a disc shape and a friction material (F1, F2) that is fixed to aside face (1a) of the plate (1A). The friction material (F1, F2) is disposed so that one or both of an inner peripheral side and an outer peripheral side is nonuniform in an inner and outer peripheral direction with respect to a circumferential direction around a center (CT1) of the plate (1A). Thus, there is an increase in the amount of lubrication oil that is fed to a surface of friction material segments (F1, F2) and there is an increase in a separation force in an axial direction between a friction plate (1.sub.1) and a separator plate or an end plate.

A disc brake rotor comprises a hub engagement member, a friction member, a first member, and a second member. The hub engagement member is configured to engage with a hub assembly. The friction member is provided radially outwardly of the hub engagement member with respect to a rotational center axis of the disc brake rotor. The friction member has an axial thickness in an axial direction with respect to the rotational center axis. The first member extends between the hub engagement member and the friction member. The first member includes a recess that has an axial depth in the axial direction. The axial depth is larger than the axial thickness of the friction member. The second member is at least partly provided on the recess without using a screw connection.

Brake lining for a disc brake, disc-brake hold-down for brake linings of a disc brake
10890224 · 2021-01-12 · ·

A disc brake is proposed having a brake calliper (1) which reaches over a brake disc (2) and brake linings (3) which are arranged on the two sides thereof and are composed in each case of a friction lining (4) and a rear plate (5), and having a hold-down (7) which runs transversely over the brake linings (3) and is supported against the brake linings towards the disc brake axis (A). The circumferential contour of the rear plate (5) of at least one of the brake linings is defined by an upper edge (21), a lower edge (22) and two side edges (23A, 23B) which extend between the upper and the lower edge. The circumferential contour of the friction lining (4) is also defined by an upper edge (31), a lower edge and two side edges which extend between the upper and the lower edge. In order to make a contribution to the solution of the problem of the structural tightness between the components of the disc brake and the vehicle wheel which rotates around the brake, the main course of the upper edges (21 and 31) of the rear plate (5) and the friction lining (4) where the hold-down (7) runs over the brake lining (3) is interrupted by a recessed portion (25 and 35) of the upper edge (21 and 31) in the direction of the brake disc axis (A).

An article includes a structural core, one or more friction pads, and a plurality of elongated fasteners. The structural core includes two core surfaces and a plurality of pockets extending between the core surfaces. Each friction pad includes a pad surface and a friction surface opposite the pad surface. Each pad surface includes a planar pad surface configured to contact the core surface and a plurality of bosses extending from the first planar pad surface and including a bore. Each planar pad surface is at least about 50% of a surface area of the respective first and second pad surfaces. The plurality of bosses engages with the plurality of pockets to position the respective first and second friction pads relative to the structural core. The plurality of elongated fasteners passes through bores of corresponding bosses of friction pads to fasten the friction pads to the structural core.
