SINGLE PISTON BRAKE CALIPER HOUSING AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A SINGLE PISTON BRAKE CALIPER HOUSING
A brake caliper housing includes a first end wall; a second end wall disposed opposite the first; a transverse wall that extends from the first end wall to the second; and an interface wall that extends from the first end wall to the second and cooperates with the first and second end walls and the transverse wall to at least partially define a cavity and define a hole sized to receive a cutting tool adapted to machine a surface. A roller seat is defined in the transverse wall and supports a roller having a body with an end having a polygonal cross-section or an enlarged cross-section relative to a diameter of the body. The roller seat has flat abutment surfaces for accommodating the end of the roller.
Brake disk and method of making same
A brake disk or drum has at least one working surface which opposes a braking member such as a brake pad or shoe. A plurality of spaced, raised island formations are provided across the working surface, with channels extending between the island formations. Each raised island formation has an outer surface which contacts a brake pad or brake shoe during braking.
CONSTANT VELOCITY PLUNGING JOINT AND METHOD OF PRODUCING A CONSTANT VELOCITY PLUNGING JOINT
A constant velocity plunging joint having an outer joint part, an inner joint part, balls which are arranged in pairs of tracks each comprising an outer ball track and an inner ball track, and a ball cage with circumferentially distributed cage windows, in each of which one of the balls is accommodated. An outer ring line through all ball centers on the outer ball tracks has an irregular shape with a largest and smallest outer ring line diameter. The inner ball tracks are produced in such a way that an inner ring line through all ball centers has an irregular shape with a largest and smallest inner ring line diameter, and wherein the inner joint part is mounted relative to the outer joint part such that an angle formed between the largest inner ring line diameter and the largest outer ring diameter is smaller than 30.
Counter track joint
A counter track joint comprises an outer joint part, an inner joint part, first pairs of tracks widening towards the opening side of the outer joint part when the counter track joint is aligned, and second pairs of tracks widening towards the connecting side of the outer joint part when the counter track joint is aligned; a ball in each of the first and second pairs of tracks; a ball cage having circumferentially distributed cage windows each receiving one of the balls, wherein one of the outer ball track group and the inner ball track group is hardened and hard machined, and the other of the outer ball track group and the inner ball track group is soft finished and subsequently hardened. A method of manufacturing a counter track joint is provided.
