Chain component and chain
Provided are a chain component that has a simple surface treatment structure and can maintain good wear resistance over a long time, and a chain that includes the chain component and maintains good wear elongation resistance. The chain component of a power transmission chain for industrial use includes a chromium nitride layer formed on an outer side of a steel base material and containing more than 0 mass % but not more than 55 mass % iron. At least a surface of the chromium nitride layer that slides against other components is a rough surface with peaks and valleys.
Drive chain and drive chain mechanism and conveyor comprising such a drive chain mechanism
A drive chain (2a, 2b) for a chain drive comprises a plurality of chain links (10, 20) and joints (30) respectively connecting two of the chain links (10, 20) forming the drive chain (2a, 2b). The drive chain (2a, 2b) further comprises a plurality of carrier elements (40), each of said carrier elements (40) being linked to one of the chain links (10, 20) or joints (30) and supporting at least two support/engagement elements (43, 44), which are configured for supporting the drive chain (2a, 2b) and/or for engagement with an appropriate turnaround element (50; 90) for driving the drive chain (2a, 2b).

BICYCLE CHAIN
A bicycle chain comprises a first outer link plate. The first outer link plate comprises a first outer-link end portion, a second outer-link end portion, a first outer-link intermediate portion, and a first outer-link longitudinal centerline. The first outer-link end portion, the second outer-link end portion and the first outer-link intermediate portion define a first outer-link outer peripheral edge. The first outer-link outer peripheral edge comprises a first outer-link end edge, a second outer-link end edge, and a pair of first outer-link intermediate edges. A first radial distance is defined from a first outer-link center axis to the first outer-link end edge in a perpendicular direction. A minimum distance is defined between the pair of first outer-link intermediate edges in the perpendicular direction. The minimum distance is smaller than 200% of the first radial distance and is equal to or larger than 5 mm.

Method for producing low-waste chain link plates
A method is provided for producing chain link plates for a plate link chain with alternating inner chain links and outer chain links, where the contour of the chain link plates has several punch sections and two face side and rear side contact sections which, after punching out the punch sections from the sheet metal strip provided, are first connected to complementary contact sections of adjoining chain link plates and separated in a subsequent separation cut. Further provided are bush or roller chains with outer chain link plates thus produced and a corresponding chain drive for an internal combustion engine with such a bush or roller chain. The method comprises the steps of: providing a sheet metal strip, punching out the punch sections of the chain link plates from the sheet metal strip, where a further rear side contact section, in addition to the face side contact sections, is respectively connected at the head portions of the chain link plates to a complementary contact section of adjoining chain link plates, and separating the face side contact sections and the rear side contact sections of the head portions of the chain link plates by way of a substantially waste-free separation cut.
