Controlled descender and/or ascender device
A variable speed controlled device used for descending, ascending or descending and ascending along a rope such as used in mountain climbing, tree climbing, rescue operations and the like. A friction mechanism controls the speed of the movement of the device along a rope line. A person can quickly and freely ascend a steep slope along a rope line using the device. A person can also descend a steep slope along a rope line and be confident that a friction mechanism will control the rate of descent. An optional locking mechanism may assist with allowing rapid ascent. An optional e-brake mechanism can further ensure the device will lock and prevent further downward movement if the person begins a freefall. The device allows other persons (e.g., a teammate, guide or rescue agency) to safely lower incapacitated or unconscious persons down an alpine mountain, burning building, cliff or the like.
LADDER COUPLING ASSEMBLY FOR FALL PROTECTION SYSTEM
A ladder coupling assembly includes a pole brace strap formed of flexible webbing and including a rope guide ring structured to guide a rope lifeline, and a buckle structured to selectively attach to a corresponding buckle attached to the rope lifeline, the rope guide ring and buckle disposed proximate a central portion of the pole brace strap, and a rung buckle strap coupled to a central portion of the pole brace strap and formed of flexible webbing and structured to wrap around a first rung or a rail of a ladder proximate an upper portion of the ladder and including rung buckles structured to selectively attach to each other to secure the rung buckle strap in a position wrapped around the first rung or rail of the ladder.
Fall protection device
A fall protection device, characterized by a module (12) with an adapter (16) for detachably attaching the module (22) at the tip of an aerial apparatus, the module comprising a plurality of ropes (36), each rope extending from an individual fall arresting device received within the module.
Descent control device
A descent control device includes a gear train, a speed-control mechanism, a first fastening plate, a second fastening plate and a third fastening plate.
Interlocking Abrasion-Protection Device for Linemen Fall-Prevention Systems
An interlocking abrasion-protection tool for linemen fall-prevention systems has multiple belay-assistance links which are formed into a chain. The belay-assistance links act as an abrasion-protection sheath for a section of rope that runs over a sharp edge. The belay-assistance links enable a user to lower a lineman who is incapacitated or stuck without endangering other linemen or damaging the linemen-support ropes. To accomplish this, each belay-assistance link has a pair of interlocking mechanisms and multiple rigging channels. The interlocking mechanisms are positioned on opposite sides of the belay-assistance link so that multiple links can be connected in series. The rigging channels traverse through the belay-assistance device to form a raceway for the linemen-protection ropes. The rigging channels prevent the linemen-protection rope from becoming tangled while supporting a lineman.
Ladder dock
A ladder dock can include a planar mounting panel, the mounting panel configured to contact and be secured to a surface of an elevated structure; and a planar connecting panel, the connecting panel extending from the mounting panel and angled with respect to the mounting panel, the connecting panel angled upward with respect to the mounting panel by a bend angle, an angle between the mounting panel and the connecting panel being less than 180 degrees, the connecting panel defining first and second ears, each of the first and second ears extending in a direction away from the mounting panel, each of the first and second ears being coplanar with the connecting panel, the first and second ears defining a ladder notch therebetween, the ladder notch sized to receive and fix a position of a ladder relative to the ladder dock, the ladder dock being formed from a single blank.
Parapet descent apparatus
A parapet descent apparatus can include a mounting panel configured to be secured to the parapet of an elevated structure; and a parapet ladder secured to the mounting panel and including: a first ladder rail; a second ladder rail; and a plurality of rungs, each of the plurality of rungs extending from the first ladder rail to the second ladder rail, the parapet ladder defining a first end configured to be secured to the parapet of the elevated structure and a second end distal from the first end and configured to contact a surface of the elevated structure, a top surface of the parapet being offset above the surface of the elevated structure by a wall height of the parapet.
FALL ARREST SYSTEM
A fall arrest system is disclosed. In one aspect, a structure may include a collar on the roof portion of the structure. A U or V-shaped anchor point has leaves or legs of the U or V-shape attached to spaced-apart locations on the collar. A cable may be attached to the anchor point and extended off the roof and down a side of the structure proximate to a ladder. A distal end of the cable may be tensioned by a cable tensioner. A rope grab may be attached to the cable. A pulley or similar structure may be used at the edge of the roof and side to protect the cable from rubbing against the edge. In use, a person attaches to the rope grab and climbs the ladder to the top of the structure.
ABSORBER FOR A FALL PROTECTION SYSTEM
An absorber assembly for a fall protection system is provided. The absorber assembly can include an absorber configured be in a non-deformed state and a deformed state. The absorber assembly can include a connecting pin coupled to the absorber and a swivel that is coupled to the connecting pin. The connecting pin can be configured to rotate by at least five degrees in relation to the absorber when the absorber is in the deformed state.
Anti-panic cable grab
The cable grab safety device releasably attaches a workman's safety lanyard to a steel cable. A primary frame constructed of an elongated U-shaped bracket having a pair of spaced apart parallel side plates fits around the cable. A secondary frame also comprised of a pair of side plates fits within the U-shaped bracket after the cable is inserted. The secondary frame carries a brake in the form of a pulley mounted in an elongated slot movable toward or away from the cable. A lever attached to a worker's lanyard moves the pulley only in the inward direction to engage the cable in the event of a fall. A bent pin connected between the primary and secondary frames allows for limited pivotal and axial movement between them allowing the cable to be inserted into the U-shaped bracket. A separate locking pin secures the frame members together.
