Valve trim assembly and flow control valve including the valve trim assembly

A flow control valve includes an inlet, an outlet, and defines a fluid flow path. A valve seat is disposed within a valve body, and a valve plug in the valve body is surrounded by a cage. An exterior surface of the valve plug includes a plurality of notch sets, each notch set spaced apart from an adjacent notch set along the longitudinal axis, and the cage is disposed within the valve body and arranged to retain the valve seat, with an interior of the cage including a plurality of annular recesses. The annular recesses are spaced apart along the longitudinal axis, and the cage includes a plurality of apertures forming a portion of the fluid flow path. The notch sets and the recesses are arranged to form a plurality of turns in the fluid flow path when the valve plug is shifted toward the open position.

Reducing noise in ball valves

A component for a ball valve that is configured to reduce noise. The component or “shoe” can install into the valve body, for example, on a downstream side of a throttling ball. In one implementation, the embodiments comprise an annular ring with an inner surface and an outer surface. The inner surface is cupped to receive a portion of the throttling ball. The outer surface may have a stepped profile with portions of the annular ring that have concentrically-decreasing diameter. This stepped profile sits in a corresponding recess in the valve body. Welds can be used to secure the shoe in place in lieu of fasteners, like bolts or screws.

Solenoid valve

A solenoid valve includes a main poppet configured to control a flow rate of working fluid flowing in a valve passage according to a pilot pressure, an auxiliary poppet configured to adjust the pilot pressure according to the electromagnetic force, and a first seat portion and a second seat portion provided in the valve passage. The main poppet includes a poppet valve seated on the first seat portion and a spool valve slidable in the second seat portion. The spool valve includes an outer peripheral surface slidable relative to the second seat portion and through holes open on the outer surface and configured such that areas thereof exposed from the second seat portion change in accordance with a movement of the spool valve.

Noise abatement in a venturi valve

A venturi valve having a valve housing that includes a narrowing section extending between a broader upstream end and a narrower valve throat followed by a broadening section downstream of the valve throat, and a valve member configured to be situated in the valve housing and movable along a valve axis in an axial direction of the valve housing. The venturi valve includes a plurality of flow influencing features positioned in a reattachment region of the valve member and/or extending inward from an inner wall of the valve housing. The plurality of flow influencing features are configured to reduce perturbations in an air flow passing through the venturi valve thereby reducing rattle from the venturi valve.

STEAM VALVE AND STEAM TURBINE PLANT

There are provided a steam valve and the like capable of preventing breakage of an auxiliary valve element and effectively suppressing the occurrence of a leak of steam in the auxiliary valve element. In the steam valve of an embodiment, the auxiliary valve element is structured to be in an open state in which the valve rod moves in an opening direction to increase a distance between an auxiliary-valve cap and a main valve element, thereby opening an auxiliary-valve steam introduction hole, and to be in a fully-closed state in which the valve rod moves in a closing direction in which the main valve element is closed to bring the auxiliary-valve cap and the main valve element into contact with each other, thereby closing the auxiliary-valve steam introduction holes. A contact position in which the auxiliary-valve cap and the main valve element are brought into contact with each other is located outside in a radial direction of the valve rod from the outer peripheral surface, of the auxiliary-valve tubular part, through which the auxiliary-valve steam introduction holes are formed.

Pressure-reduction devices for fluid systems

Pressure-reduction devices for fluid systems are disclosed. An example device includes a housing defining an axial fluid passageway between an inlet and an outlet. A first plate is fixed to the housing and positioned in the axial fluid passageway. A second plate is positioned adjacent the first plate in the axial fluid passageway. The second plate is moveable relative to the first plate between a first position to move the pressure-reducing device to a closed position to restrict or prevent fluid flow through the axial fluid passageway and a second position to move the pressure-reducing device to an open position to allow fluid flow through the axial fluid passageway.
