Quick coupling with volume displacement passage

A quick coupling assembly includes a first coupling element (10) and a second coupling element (50) that is inserted into the first coupling element. The first coupling element has a coupling body (12) and a valve (20), which define a volume displacement passage. When the second coupling element (50) is inserted, the second coupling element mechanically acts on the valve (20) to expel contaminants from the quick coupling assembly via the volume displacement passage. The valve includes a poppet (22) and a biasing spring (24), and the volume displacement passage includes a leak path (66) defined between the coupling body and the poppet. The poppet has an inward contour (68) that is spaced apart from the coupling body to define the leak path. The poppet has a widened portion (70) that provides a sealing surface when the assembly is fully coupled. The second coupling element (50) mechanically acts on the poppet (22) during insertion to expel the contaminants via the volume displacement passage.

TUBULAR END PROTECTOR

A protector is proposed for an end of an elongate member, such as an end of a pipe or tube. The protector comprises a rigid portion which has a body portion for insertion into a cavity defined by an end portion of the elongate member, and a cover portion extending from the body portion. The protector further comprises a flexible portion provided on an outer surface of the body portion. The flexible portion comprises one or more resilient members. When the body portion is received within the cavity of the elongate member, the resilient members engage the inner surface of the cavity, and the cover portion covers an end surface of the elongate member.

Open-ended pipe thread protector with seal thereon and seal therefor

There is provided a pipe thread protector having first and second ends, threading extending from the first end towards the second end thereof, and a bore extending from the first end to the second end thereof. A seal couples to the first end of the pipe thread protector and is tubular. The seal tapers in a direction extending from a proximal end thereof towards a distal end thereof, and tapers in a direction extending from an outer surface thereof to an inner surface thereof. There is additionally provided a pipe thread protector assembly including a pipe thread protector, a coupling via which the pipe thread protector and a male threaded end of a pipe threadably couple together, and a seal coupled to an inner end of the pipe thread protector. The seal is shaped to protect and extend along an outer end surface of the pipe.

VEHICLE BODY STRUCTURE

A vehicle body structure includes an exhaust component, a pipe extending from the exhaust component and a water shield. The water shield has a first end fixed to the pipe at a location proximate the exhaust component. The water shield extends rearward from the location proximate the exhaust component and has a second end that is spaced apart from the pipe.

Sealing profile protector

A sealing profile protector for a subsea hydrocarbon production or processing system component includes a body having an contact surface which is configured to engage a sealing profile on the component. When the sealing profile protector is installed, the contact surface displaces seawater from the sealing profile. In this manner, contaminants are inhibited from forming on the sealing surface after the sealing profile protector is installed.

An elbow fitting for an excavating apparatus can include a curved cylindrical pipe that can include a first metal material. In an example, the fitting can be configured for coupling to a hose. The pipe can include an interior surface and an exterior surface. Optionally, a perimeter of the pipe does not exceed a diameter of a first end of the pipe. The fitting can include a cladding layer (e.g., a second metal material) that can be coupled to the first metal material within the interior surface of the pipe. The cladding layer can include an abrasion-resistant material. The cladding layer can be coupled to the pipe such as with a welding operation. The cladding layer can include one or more ridges. The cladding layer can corregate the interior surface of the fitting and exterior surfaces of the fitting which can come into contact with abrasive material.

Coupler guard system

A coupler guard configured to protect an auxiliary coupler assembly from side impacts in the rough use environment of a loader. The coupler guard comprises an encasement and a side plate. The loader comprises the auxiliary coupler assembly and a hinge extension. The encasement wraps around a top portion and interior side of the auxiliary coupler assembly. The side plate attaches to a portion of the encasement and protect an exterior side portion of the auxiliary coupler assembly. A screw assemblies selectively attaches the encasement to the side plate. A ring attaches to a portion of the side plate. The ring selectively wraps around a portion of the hinge extension of the loader. A ring screw assembly selectively holds the ring and the rest of the coupler guard to the hinge extension. An edge trim selectively sits on top of a portion of a first arm.

Locking cap for fire department connections

A locking cap may be selectively locked into place within a tubular opening, such as the open end of a standpipe used to charge a building sprinkler system. The locking cap may have a plug portion. A friction load can be used to limit the unauthorized removal of the plug portion.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR EARTH DRILLING

A cleaning apparatus for cleaning a drill string. The cleaning apparatus includes a base, an arm, a fluid flow conduit, and a motor. The base supports the arm on a drill floor of a drilling rig. The arm has a first end which is mounted on the base, a second end at which a spray nozzle is arranged, and at least one articulated joint via which the arm, or a portion of the arm, can pivot relative to the base. The fluid flow conduit is connected to the spray nozzle so that a pressurized fluid entering the fluid flow conduit can spray out of the spray nozzle. The motor pivots the arm about the at least one articulated joint so as to alter an orientation of the spray nozzle relative to the base.
