The present invention provides an LED module that can prevent breakage of an LED chip due to pulse lighting for a flash when the LED module is used in a flashing lamp. An LED module (10) for flashing lamp includes: an LED substrate (13); plural LEDs (12); and plural resin layers (11). In the LED module (10), the LEDs (12) are mounted on a mounting surface of the LED substrate (13). Each resin layer (11) is stacked on a surface of each LED (12) opposite to the LED substrate (13). Adjacent resin layers (11) stacked on the LEDs (12) are separated from each other.

An airfield light, components thereof, and associated methods. The airfield light can include a baffle including a baffle body and one or more baffle members secured to the baffle body. The baffle members are configured to cover portions of a baffle window. At least one light source is mounted in association with the baffle and emits light out of the baffle window. The baffle members cover portions of the baffle window for blocking light transmission therethrough. A method of assembling an airfield light includes arranging a baffle to shroud a light assembly and removing a baffle member to permit light from the light assembly to emit through a portion of a baffle window opened by removing the baffle member. A baffle for an airfield light is also disclosed.

A light suitable for lighting take-off and landing runways and taxiways of airports that includes a housing cover provided with a light passage opening, an optical system including at least one light-emitting diode module with at least one LED-chain having a plurality of light-emitting diodes as light sources, a reflector, and a prism having a shape complementary to that of the light passage opening, an insert and a sealing ring, which is arranged between the housing cover and the insert. On an underside of the housing cover of the light, the at least one LED module and reflector are arranged in a first chamber, which is separated from a second chamber of the light by a seal including a flexible insulating and heat-conducting film arranged between the reflector and the underside of the housing cover.

A compact PAPI having a semiconductor light source and finely distribution of lights is herein proposed. The novel PAPI includes two artificial light sources each with a plurality of semiconductor emitters as well as two concave and two planar reflectors, one for each artificial light source. The concave reflectors collect light emitted by the plurality of semiconductor emitters of the first and second artificial light sources and gather the collected light to the planar reflectors as output of the PAPI.

Airfield lights, components thereof, and associated methods. An airfield light can include one or more heat sink modules secured to a heat sink base to form a heat sink module on which light sources are mountable. A method includes assembling a heat sink and mounting light sources thereon. A platform of an airfield light permits mounting of a light assembly in a selected orientation on the platform.

A luminaire system is provided that has directional light projection optics combined with a light distribution modifier to produce a non-uniform angular light intensity distribution from a single or array of light sources. The luminaire system provides for light intensity distribution with directional asymmetry meeting the specifications and requirements of aviation obstruction lights. The light distribution modifier component or subassembly redirects, scatters, refracts, diffracts and/or blocks part of the projection light in the distribution of the primary optics that would otherwise produce ground scatter. Unlike peripheral light shields at the marginal limits of the light distribution from the luminaire light system, the light distribution modifier is located near to the optical axis of the projection optics system.

An airport lighting system includes one or more lighting elements, a transient protection apparatus, and one or more electrical control cabinets. The transient protection apparatus is coupled to the one or more lighting elements. One or more electrical control cabinets are coupled to the transient protection apparatus. Each of the control cabinets produces one or more of control and power signals that are effective to operate the one or more lighting elements. The transient protection apparatus is configured to provide protection for one or more of the electrical control cabinets and the one or more lighting elements from electrical surges.

A lamp (10) includes: an LED module (11) serving as a light source; a heatsink (12); a heat transfer unit (13); a light distribution unit (14); a housing (15) with an opening; and a light-transmissive cover (16). The LED module (11) includes a plurality of LEDs, and an LED substrate having a mounting surface on which the plurality of LEDs are mounted. The heatsink (12) is arranged on the side of the LED substrate opposite to the mounting surface. The light distribution unit (14) is arranged on the light emitting side of the LED module (11). The LED module (11), the heatsink (12), and the light distribution unit (14) are arranged in the housing (15). The light-transmissive cover (16) is arranged in the opening of the housing (15). The heat transfer unit (13) includes a heat conduction section (13a) and a heat discharge section (13b), the heat conduction section (13a) being arranged so as to conduct heat from the heatsink (12), and the heat discharge section (13b) being arranged so as to be able to discharge the heat to the light-transmissive cover (16).
