Training neck muscles in such a way as to improve responsiveness to head acceleration forces, and to help prevent concussion and/or screen subjects who are at high risk of concussion, especially from contact sports, the neck muscles may be trained to improve strength and responsiveness to head acceleration. This may be accomplished by a device and/or method of training that incorporates an adjustable centripetal force about a fixed axis on the head. The centripetal force may be adjusted through varying the weight and/or length of a force arm. Neck muscle performance may be measured by the number of revolutions of the force arm completed over a pre-determined time period or the time required to complete a pre-determined number of revolutions of the force arm.

Functional training device

A versatile, functional training device of substantially elliptical shape and comprising a fluid weight that employs principles of unstable resistance as a means of increasing balance, stability, overall strength, core strength and proprioception while increasing lean muscle mass and burning calories. During operation, a user moves the device through a regimen of individualized movements, and the fluid weight moves and shifts inside the device, creating a instability at a point of resistance. The device comprises D-shaped handles with finger grooves adapted for maneuverability. The handles also may be filled with fluid to increase the weight and adaptability of the device across multiple activities and physical regimens. Measuring scales are provided on the device to measure the amount of fluid added to or removed from the device. The device may be transparent or translucent, and the fluid weight may be tinted to aid in visibility.

A waist training device includes unit members of arc shaped and adapted to be assembled as a ring. The inner diameter of the ring is determined by the number of the unit members. Each unit member defines a passage, and the passages of the unit members are connected with each other to form a rail extended annularly along the ring. For each member, a pair of pivot shafts is located at one end of the passage, and a pair of pivot holes is located at the other end of the passage. The pivot shafts of each unit member are pivotally assembled with the pivot holes of an adjacent unit member. A counter weight member is assembled in the rail. The counter weight member has a seat connected to a counter weight block. The counter weight member moves along the rail by the sliding of the seat in the rail.

Athletic swing training weight and method

A swing training weight and method for building the strength and control of a user, while teaching proper swing mechanics. The swing training weight is attached to athletic equipment during training or while warming up for competition, and provides an improved means of release from the athletic equipment. The swing training weight incorporates a sliding member that simulates the impact of striking an object and provides audible, visual and tactile feedback to the user pertaining to the proper execution of the swing. Training methods using the swing training weight are provided that improve athletic performance, and allow for focused training of the proper execution of specific elements of an athletic swing. Further, the swing training weight incorporates a movable stop that allows the weight to be configured to provide for training methods that further focus on the proper execution of specific swing elements.

A waist fitness apparatus includes main body and a resilient cover. The main body has a base pivotally connected with a supporting board through an eccentric unit, and the base is used to distribute the weight of the user, so the main body can be stably disposed on the ground. The present invention is advantageous because the height of the supporting board is higher than the height of the knee height of an average adult, the user does not have to bend the knees when sitting on it to increase the comfortableness. Also, the supporting board can be dragged back to its original position by the cover when it is not in use, so the user does not have to adjust the supporting board.

Exercise device for supporting weight from hand grips using straps

An exercise device is formed of inelastic, fixed length, substantially rigid straps connected in a T-shaped configuration so as to define an anchor member and two support members. An anchor loop is fixed to the outer end of the anchor member for securing a weighted member thereon or for securing to various stationary objects. A hand grip is coupled to the outer end of each support member such that the user must exert additional effort during various exercises to maintain proper position of their hands relative to one another.
