Exercise treadmill

A treadmill has a front or rear set of pulleys and a looped running belt. The pulleys rotate with the movement of the belt, e.g., when a user walks, jogs, or runs on the treadmill. The pulleys are mounted on a rotating roller tube so that the roller tube rotates with the pulleys. The roller tube is mounted on a stationary shaft using bearings on each side and a one-way device that allows the pulleys to rotate in one direction. The rotation direction corresponds to the movement of the top of the belt from the front to the rear of the treadmill. The one-way device prevents the pulleys from rotating in the opposite direction, preventing the top of the belt from moving from the rear of the treadmill to the front. The one-way device may be a sprag clutch. The treadmill may be a motor-less, curved treadmill.

System and method for range of motion analysis and balance training while exercising
10688341 · 2020-06-23 · ·

A system and method for range of motion analysis while exercising, including methods for constructing user movement profiles based on repeated and typical user movements during exercises as are typical for an adult of a user's age, weight, etc., and capable of warning a user of unhealthy, unsafe, or anomalous movement patterns during exercise, using a balance trainer, range of motion analyzer, and a plurality of sensors in conjunction with an exercise device, in an effort to reduce health risks to users during exercise with an enhanced or mixed reality exercise device.

MANUALLY POWERED TREADMILL WITH VARIABLE BRAKING RESISTANCE

A treadmill includes a frame; a plurality of bearings coupled to the frame; a running belt at least partially supported by the plurality of bearings and adapted for rotational movement relative to the frame, the running belt having a running surface, at least a portion of which is curved; a braking system configured to selectively resist rotation of the running belt; a support element coupled to the frame; and a safety device coupled to the running belt. The safety device is at least partly supported by the support element. The running belt freely rotates in a first direction of rotation relative to the frame, however, in a second direction of rotation, opposite the first direction of rotation, engagement between the support element and at least a portion of the safety device substantially prevents rotation the running belt relative to the frame.

There is provided a motorless treadmill. The motorless treadmill includes: a motorless track having a curved shape such that an inclination angle increases with respect to a ground surface toward a front end and a rear end, and configured to move around a closed path by a user's footsteps; and a pair of side covers disposed on two opposing sides of the motorless track, wherein the motorless track changes movement speed according to a location at which the user steps on the motorless track, and wherein, on at least one side cover of the pair of side covers, a speed-related indicator is disposed to indicate information related to the movement speed of the motorless track.

Stationary manual exercise sled
10661115 · 2020-05-26 ·

A manual non-motorized exercise treadmill with the ability to provide adjustable resistance to perform strength training resistance movements and simulate the movements of an exercise drive sled in a stationary location is described. A treadmill deck of the treadmill is supported by friction-reduction rollers, a front treadmill roller and a rear treadmill roller. The treadmill is operated by the user pushing and/or pulling with the feet of the user via a belt or harness attached to adjustable stationary hand bars. Variable resistance allows for increased or decreased difficulty in achieving the exercise according to the preference and ability of the user. The resistance is configured to be applied to the rollers and/or belt, making it more difficult for the user to manually move the treadmill belt. The treadmill belt is configured to oscillate for both concentric and eccentric exercises not provided by conventional treadmills.

CONVEYOR CHAIN FOR A STEPMILL

A conveyor chain which is designed to be used on a stepmill to form into steps on the side interacting with a user, but which can fold into a generally flat configuration when returning to the top of the tread. Each step is designed to be formed of four generally identical segments where both the segments forming the tread and kickplate can fold relative to each other and each of the tread and kickplate can fold at a midpoint between two segments.

CONFIGURATION OF A RUNNING SURFACE FOR A MANUAL TREADMILL AND METHODS FOR OPERATING THE MANUAL TREADMILL

A treadmill is provided according to various embodiments herein. The treadmill includes a frame; a front shaft coupled to the frame; a rear shaft coupled to the frame; and a running belt disposed about the front and rear shafts, wherein the running belt assumes at least a portion of a curved running surface, the curved running surface having a radius of curvature of approximately 88 to 138 inches.

SLAT-BELT TREADMILL

A slat-belt treadmill is provided. The slat-belt treadmill includes a treadmill frame, a front shaft pivotally coupled to the treadmill frame, and a rear shaft pivotally coupled to the treadmill frame; a plurality of slats constituting a slat-belt, collaboratively rotating about the front and rear shafts, and forming an exercise surface on which a user of the treadmill may walk or run; a driving apparatus coupling to the slats and driving the slats to rotate about the front and rear shafts; and a light-emitting unit disposed under the exercise surface to provide a light source. When the slats are rotating, light from the light-emitting unit is intermittently visible as the slats intermittently block and reveal the light.

Coordinated displays in an exercise device

An exercise device includes a frame, an upright portion of the frame, a movable element connected to the frame and movable in the performance of an exercise, a first display connected to the upright portion of the frame, and a second display connected to the frame.
