A furnace for performing an endothermic process, comprising tubes containing catalyst for converting gaseous feed, wherein tubes are positioned inside the furnace in rows parallel to refractory walls along X axis, wherein burners are mounted either to the furnace floor or to the furnace ceiling, inner burners being mounted in rows between the rows of tubes and outer burners being mounted in rows between tubes rows and the wall along X axis, and close to said wall along X axis, wherein the outer burners are positioned such that the distance b2w between the outer burner and the wall along X axis is smaller than or equal to equivalent burner nozzle diameter øb of said outer burner (b2w/øb≤1).
System and method for synchronized oxy-fuel boosting of a regenerative glass melting furnace
A system and method for synchronized oxy-fuel boosting of a regenerative glass melting furnace including first and second sets of regenerative air-fuel burners, a first double-staged oxy-fuel burner mounted in a first wall, and a second double-staged oxy-fuel burner mounted in a second wall, each oxy-fuel burner having a primary oxygen valve to apportion a flow of oxygen between primary oxygen and staged oxygen and a staging mode valve to apportion the flow of staged oxygen between an upper staging port and a lower staging port in the respective burner, and a controller programmed to control the primary oxygen valve and the staging mode valve of each of the first and second oxy-fuel burners to adjust flame characteristics of the first and second oxy-fuel burners depending on the state of operation of the furnace.
Selectable dilution low NOx burner
A burner supporting primary and secondary combustion reactions may include a primary combustion reaction actuator configured to select a location of the secondary combustion reaction. A burner may include a lifted flame holder structure configured to support a secondary combustion reaction above a partial premixing region. The secondary flame support location may be selected as a function of a turndown parameter. Selection logic may be of arbitrary complexity.
Gas valve unit having two gas outlets
A gas valve unit for setting a gas volumetric flow to a twin-circuit gas burner of a gas appliance includes a valve body having a gas inlet and two gas outlets, and a control mechanism for adjusting the gas volumetric flow to at least one of the gas outlets in a multiple-stage manner. The control mechanism has a zero position in which the gas volumetric flow to the gas outlets is interrupted, and a switching position which is adjacent to the zero position and in which the gas volumetric flow is set to a maximum value.
FUEL SUBMETERING USING FIRING RATE SIGNALS
A fuel sub-metering mechanism for appliances that consume fuel. Each appliance may have a firing rate indicator. An individual fuel line may be connected to each appliance. A main fuel line may be connected to individual fuel lines. A meter may be connected to the main fuel line. A processor may be connected to the firing rate indicators and to the meter. The meter may measure total fuel consumption by the appliances. The processor may provide a sub-meter estimate of fuel consumed by each appliance. The sub-meter estimate may be based at least in part on a firing rate of the respective appliance and the total fuel consumption as indicated by the meter.
GAS BRANCHING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FINE GLASS PARTICLE DEPOSITED BODY USING THE SAME
A gas branching apparatus that branches and supplies a gas to first to N-th supply targets, includes first to N-th pipes wherein the first to N-th pipes are each branched into first to N-th branch pipes on a downstream end side, and wherein the i-th branch pipes of the respective first to N-th pipes are connected in common to the i-th supply target, and the i-th branch pipes of the respective first to N-th pipes are provided with valves, respectively, where i denotes each of integers of 1 to N.
COMBUSTION CONTROLLING SYSTEM
A combustion controlling system according to the present invention provides a signal path for transmitting an ignition preparation signal SA output from a master device to a transmission line through cascade-connected slave devices. Then, each of the slave devices determines whether each of the slave devices outputs the ignition preparation signal to a subsequent device, or not, based on whether there is a flame of the corresponding burner, or not, at the time of igniting the burners, and the master device opens a safety shutoff valve on the condition that an ignition preparation signal SAo has been input from the transmission line.
Cooking grill using pellet fuel
A cooking grill includes a container defining a combustion area and a cooking surface over the combustion area. The grill features a pellet burner unit disposed within the container under the cooking surface and a pellet feeding device arranged to feed pellets into the burner unit. The burner unit comprises a trough into which the pellets are fed. The trough is mounted in a movable support which can be pulled out from within the container. The feeding device includes a removable cartridge for containing pellets and a receptacle for receiving the cartridge inserted thereon so that the cartridge supplies pellets for transfer to the pellet burner unit. In addition, a gas burner system is arranged in the container adjacent to the pellet burner unit so as to apply heat from the gas burner system to the cooking surface in addition to or as an alternative to the pellet burner unit.
COMBUSTION CHAMBER SYSTEM AND A METHOD OF OPERATING A COMBUSTION CHAMBER SYSTEM
A combustion chamber system has pilot and main fuel manifolds, and pilot and main fuel nozzles. Each pilot nozzle is connected to the pilot manifold. Each main nozzle is connected to the main manifold. A greater total amount of fuel is supplied to the pilot nozzles than to the main nozzles. A greater amount of fuel is supplied to pilot nozzles at, or in, a first region of the combustion chamber than to pilot fuel nozzles at, or in, a second region. A greater amount of fuel is supplied to the main nozzles at, or in, the first region than to the main nozzles at, or in, the second to improve combustion efficiency, weak extinction and relight of the combustion chamber in a first mode of operation. A greater total amount of fuel is supplied to the main nozzles than to the pilot nozzles in a second mode of operation.
Combustion chamber and method for operating a combustion chamber
A combustion chamber of a gas turbine including first and second premixed fuel supply devices connected to a combustion device having first zones connected to the first premixed fuel supply devices and second zones connected to the second premixed fuel supply devices. The second fuel supply devices are shifted along a combustion device longitudinal axis with respect to the first fuel supply devices. The first zones are axially upstream of the second premixed fuel supply devices.
