Gas turbine engine combustor with ceramic matrix composite liner
A combustor adapted for use in a gas turbine engine includes a combustor shell comprising metallic materials. The combustor shell is formed to define an internal space. The combustor further includes a heat shield mounted to an axially aft surface of the combustor shell within the internal space and a combustor liner arranged to extend along inner surfaces of the combustor shell within the internal space. The combustor liner cooperates with the heat shield to define a combustor chamber.
STACKED COOLING ASSEMBLY FOR GAS TURBINE COMBUSTOR
Stacked cooling assemblies and combustor bead ends are provided. A stacked cooling assembly includes an inlet plate defining an inlet to a coolant circuit, an outlet plate defining an outlet of the coolant circuit, and an intermediate plate disposed between the inlet plate and die outlet plate. The intermediate plate defines an intermediate cavity. A downstream surface of the inlet plate, an upstream surface of the outlet plate, and the intermediate cavity collectively define a connecting channel that fluidly couples the inlet to the outlet.
COMBUSTOR LINER
The invention is a combustor liner (12) of a dual wall cooling structure including an inner wall section (30) configured to surround a combustion region (13) and in which a plurality of effusion cooling holes (31) are formed, and an outer wall section (20) formed to be spaced apart from the inner wall section (30) and in which a plurality of impingement cooling holes (21) are formed, wherein the inner wall section (30) is constituted by a plurality of plate-shaped members (40), and a support guide member (50) is provided which is configured to guide the plurality of plate-shaped members (40) to enable free insertion and extraction and support the plurality of plate-shaped members (40) at intervals such that deformation by thermal expansion is able to be absorbed.
BRAZING COMPONENTS AND TECHNIQUES
A method of joining includes applying braze to a braze reservoir in a first component. A second component is engaged to the first component, wherein a joint location is defined between the first and second components. A wicking structure provides flow communication from the braze reservoir to the joint location. The method also includes joining the first and second components together at the joint location by applying heat to the braze to flow the braze from the reservoir through the wicking structure to the joint location to form a braze joint at the joint location.
Fuel injectors and methods of making fuel injectors
A fuel injector includes an outer body and an inner body. The outer body extends about an axis and has a radially inner surface and a retention groove defined in the inner surface of the outer body. The inner body is positioned within the outer body has an outer surface and a retention tab. The retention tab retains the inner body relative to the outer body by engagement of the retention tab within the retention groove. A is axially offset from the retention tab and fixes the inner body within the outer body.
SMALL EXIT DUCT FOR A REVERSE FLOW COMBUSTOR WITH INTEGRATED COOLING ELEMENTS
The described reverse flow combustor of a gas turbine engine includes inner and outer combustor liners defining a combustor chamber therewithin. A large exit duct and a small exit duct are disposed at downstream ends of the outer and inner liner respectively. The small exit duct includes an annular ring removably mounted to a support element of the gas turbine engine and includes a plurality of cooling elements integrally formed with the annular ring and projecting therefrom into impingement airflow. The cooling elements increase the effective surface area of the inner surface of the annular ring, which is adapted to be cooled by the impingement airflow.
COMBUSTOR ASSEMBLY FOR A GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A combustor assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a combustor shell extending along a shell axis. The combustor shell includes a shell wall extending around the shell axis and a meter panel connected to an upstream end of the shell wall. The shell wall and the meter panel together define a combustion space therebetween. The combustor assembly further includes: a tile disposed within the combustor shell and including a tile flange portion extending radially with respect to the shell axis; a heatshield connected to the meter panel and extending at least radially towards the tile; a fastener connecting the tile flange portion to the meter panel; and a compartment thermally shielded from the combustion space. Either the heatshield and the tile together form the compartment or the tile alone forms the compartment. The fastener is spaced apart from the combustion space and at least partially disposed within the compartment.
INSTALLATION TOOL AND SYSTEM FOR ASSEMBLING A GAS TURBINE COMBUSTOR
An apparatus and system for assembling a combustor comprises a push bar including a first end portion that is laterally opposed from a second end portion. A first alignment block and a second alignment block are adjustably coupled to the push bar. A first threaded rod extends through the push bar proximate to the first end portion and a second threaded rod extends through the push bar proximate to the second end portion. The first alignment block and the second alignment block extend outwardly from an aft side of the push bar and are positioned between the first threaded rod and the second threaded rod. The installation tool includes a first nut and a second nut for applying axial force to the push bar.
Gas turbine system with a transition duct having axially extending cooling channels
A gas turbine system (1) including a burner arrangement having a tubular combustion chamber (5), a turbine (6) and a transition duct (7) connecting the combustion chamber (5) and the turbine (6), wherein the transition duct (7) is provided with an axially extending cooling air channel (11). The transition duct (7) includes a plurality of axially extending cooling air channels, and wherein each cooling air channel (11) is provided with one single inlet (12) opened to the outside of the transition duct (7) and with one single outlet (12) opened to the inside of the transition duct (7).
