A system and method for removing nitrogen from an intermediate stream in a gas subcooled process operation that processes natural gas into a sales gas stream and a natural gas liquids stream. The system and method of the invention are particularly suitable for use with gas subcooled process operations where the sales gas stream exceeds pipeline nitrogen specifications by up to about 3%, such as for reducing the nitrogen content of sales gas streams to levels permissible for pipeline transport.

Integrated nitrogen removal in the production of liquefied natural gas using dedicated reinjection circuit

A method and apparatus for liquefying a natural gas feed stream and removing nitrogen therefrom to produce a nitrogen-depleted LNG product, in which a natural gas feed stream is passed through main heat exchanger to produce a first LNG stream, which is separated to form a nitrogen-depleted LNG product and a recycle stream composed of nitrogen-enriched natural gas vapor, and in which the recycle stream is passed through main heat exchanger to produce a first LNG stream, separately from and in parallel with the natural gas feed stream, to produce a first at least partially liquefied nitrogen-enriched natural gas stream that is separated to provide a nitrogen-rich vapor product.

Process and apparatus for separating NO2 from a CO2 and NO2-containing fluid

A process for separating carbon dioxide from a fluid containing carbon dioxide, NO.sub.2, and at least one of oxygen, argon, and nitrogen comprises the steps of separating at least part of the fluid into a carbon dioxide enriched stream, a carbon dioxide depleted stream comprising CO.sub.2 and at least one of oxygen, argon, and nitrogen and a NO.sub.2 enriched stream and recycling said NO.sub.2 enriched stream upstream of the separation step.

Lights removal from carbon dioxide

Light gases such as helium are extracted from a carbon dioxide-containing feed stream by distillation. Costly dehydration steps are avoided by pumping the liquid bottoms stream leaving the distillation column without vaporization so as to ensure that any water present in the feed remains in solution with the bulk stream leaving the process. This prevents any liquid phase water causing corrosion or solid ice or hydrates forming to plug the flow.

Described herein are systems and processes of removing contaminants in a liquid nitrogen (LIN) stream used to produce liquefied natural gas (LNG). Greenhouse gas contaminants are removed from the LIN using a greenhouse gas removal unit. The LNG is compressed prior to being cooled by the LIN.

Natural gas liquefaction with integrated nitrogen removal

A natural gas liquefaction method and system having integrated nitrogen removal. Recycled LNG gas is cooled in a separate and parallel circuit from the natural gas stream in the main heat exchanger. Cooled recycled gas and natural gas streams are directed to a nitrogen rectifier column after the warm bundle. The recycle stream is introduced to the rectifier column above the natural gas stream and at least one separation stage is located in the rectifier column between the recycle stream inlet and the natural gas inlet. The bottom stream from the rectifier column is directed to a cold bundle of the main heat exchanger where it is subcooled.

Integrated hydrogen production and bio-renewable conversion process

A bio-renewable conversion process for making fuel from bio-renewable feedstocks is combined with a hydrogen production process that includes recovery of CO.sub.2. The integrated process uses a purge gas stream comprising hydrogen from the bio-renewable hydrocarbon production process in the hydrogen production process.

A cryogenic carbon capture system includes a flue gas cooling device in fluid communication with a heat engine. The flue gas cooling device receives a fluid stream that is downstream from the heat engine and a cooled liquid coolant stream so that the fluid stream is cooled by the cooled liquid coolant stream and a cooled flue gas stream is formed. A cryogenic carbon capture unit receives at least a portion of the cooled flue gas stream and separates carbon dioxide from the first portion of the cooled flue gas stream so that a clean flue gas stream and a carbon dioxide stream are formed. A liquid coolant cooling device receives the clean flue gas stream and a liquid coolant stream and cools the liquid coolant stream using the clean flue gas stream so that the cooled liquid coolant stream is formed and provided to the flue gas cooling device. The heat engine is in fluid communication with the cryogenic carbon capture system and receives a portion of a split stream that is downstream from the flue gas cooling device as an exhaust gas recirculation stream and an air stream.

Method of producing a hydrogen-enriched product and recovering CO.SUB.2 .in a hydrogen production process unit

A process and apparatus for producing a hydrogen-enriched product and recovering CO.sub.2 from an effluent stream from a hydrogen production process unit are described. The process utilizes a CO.sub.2 recovery system integrated with a PSA system that produces at least two product streams to recover additional hydrogen and CO.sub.2 from the tail gas stream of a hydrogen PSA unit in the hydrogen production process.

Method of recovering a hydrogen enriched product and CO2 in a hydrogen production unit

A process and apparatus for producing a hydrogen-enriched product and recovering CO.sub.2 from an effluent stream from a hydrogen production unit are described. The effluent from the hydrogen production unit, which comprises a mixture of gases comprising hydrogen, carbon dioxide, water, and at least one of methane, carbon monoxide, nitrogen, and argon, is sent to a PSA system that produces at least two product streams for separation. The PSA system that produces at least two product streams separates the gas mixture into a high-pressure hydrogen stream enriched in hydrogen, optionally a second gas stream containing the majority of the impurities, and a low-pressure tail gas stream enriched in CO.sub.2 and some impurities. The CO.sub.2-rich tail gas stream is compressed and sent to a CO.sub.2 recovery unit, where a CO.sub.2-enriched stream is recovered. The CO.sub.2-depleted overhead gas stream is recycled to the PSA system that produces at least two product streams.
