SYSTEM FOR UTILIZING CARBON DIOXIDE OF FLUE GAS CAPTURED BY COLD HEAT OF LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS
A system captures carbon dioxide from a flue gas of a power generation facility by using cold heat of liquefied natural gas and utilizes the captured carbon dioxide for mining natural gas, using heat of the flue gas to regasify the LNG. Solidified dry ice is captured from gaseous carbon dioxide contained in the flue gas, and the captured dry ice is used as filler when mining natural gas. The system includes a mining facility, a vehicle to transport LNG liquefied by the mining facility; and a facility for regasifying the transported LNG and capturing dry ice from the carbon dioxide. In the regasification and capture facility, the flue gas exchanges heat with the LNG, thereby regasifying the LNG at an increased temperature and capturing the dry ice from the carbon dioxide. The captured dry ice is transported to the mining facility, which uses it for mining the natural gas.
Cryogenic system for removing acid gases from a hydrocarbon gas stream
A system for removing acid gases from a raw gas stream is provided. The system includes a cryogenic distillation tower. The cryogenic distillation tower has a controlled freezing zone that receives a cold liquid spray comprised primarily of methane. The tower receives and then separates the raw gas stream into an overhead methane gas stream and a substantially solid material comprised on carbon dioxide. The system includes a collector tray below the controlled freezing zone. The collector tray receives the substantially solid material as it is precipitated in the controlled freezing zone. The system also has a filter. The filter receives the substantially solid material and then separates it into a solid material comprised primarily of carbon dioxide, and a liquid material comprising methane. The solid material may be warmed as a liquid and sold, while the liquid material is returned to the cryogenic distillation tower.

Method and apparatus for dampening flow variations and pressurizing carbon dioxide
An apparatus is provided for maintaining a steady flow rate and pressure of a carbon dioxide stream at high pressure when a low-pressure source of the carbon dioxide varies with time. Liquid level in an accumulator that is sized to accommodate variations in supply rate is controlled by sub-cooling of liquid entering the accumulator and heating in the accumulator, the sub-cooling and heating being controlled by a pressure controller operable in the accumulator.
Production of low pressure liquid carbon dioxide from a power production system and method
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods that provide a low pressure liquid CO.sub.2 stream. In particular, the present disclosure provides systems and methods wherein a high pressure CO.sub.2 stream, such as a recycle CO.sub.2 stream from a power production process using predominately CO.sub.2 as a working fluid, can be divided such that a portion thereof can be expanded and used as a cooling stream in a heat exchanger to cool the remaining portion of the high pressure CO.sub.2 stream, which can then be expanded to form a low pressure CO.sub.2 stream, which may be in a mixed form with CO.sub.2 vapor. The systems and methods can be utilized to provide net CO.sub.2 from combustion in a liquid form that is easily transportable.

Method for the capture of carbon dioxide through cryogenically processing gaseous emissions from fossil-fuel power generation
A cryogenic method for capturing carbon dioxide in the gaseous emissions produced from the fossil-energy combustion of solid, liquid, or gaseous fossil fuels in a power generation installation employing an OxyFuel mode of combustion. The method includes: producing essentially pure carbon dioxide under elevated pressure and at near ambient temperatures in a Carbon-Dioxide Capture Component from the carbon-dioxide content of at least a part of the gaseous emissions produced from fossil-energy fueled combustion in the Oxyfuel mode of combustion; separating atmospheric air in an Air Separation Component into a stream of liquid nitrogen and a stream of high-purity oxygen; supplying low temperature, compressed purified air to a cryogenic air separation unit (cold box) within the Air Separation Component; collecting low temperature thermal energy from coolers employed within the Carbon-Dioxide Capture Component and the Air Separation Component; and converting the collected thermal energy to electricity within a Thermal-Energy Conversion Component.
